SOURCE: I have 2001 jeep grand cherokee 6cyl need

On the top of the bellhousing. From the drivers point of view it is in the 11:00 o'clock position. The harness wraps around the back of the bellhousing and plugs in on the passenger side of the block near the oil sending unit.

04 jeep grand cherokee v6 - i was driving on the highway when the engine overheated and turned off and would not start until it cooled. what could be wrong or what could i check to find out? thanks

Hi.

Common fault is fuel pump getting damaged after engine overheating.

The pump is located in fuel tank, to know if pump is working, check fuel pressure using an hand gauge. It is available for $25 or so.

Check if there is coolant. If engine restarts check coolant level, if that goes down, then the head gasket has been damaged.

If fuel pressure is OK, check injection and distribution.

My oil pressure is dropping and at the same time my car is idleing to where it seems like my fuel pump is dying. Are the 2 related. If I step on the gas the oil pressure picks up and the my car gets gas...

Your oil pressure will increase and decrease with the speed of the engine. As long as your oil pressure increases, that's ok. The idle problem could be caused by a dirty fuel or air filter. I would start with replacing the fuel filter and check the condition of the air filter.

6cyl. reliable, runs good. but three fuel pumps recently, still no pressure, but starts after 20-25 cranks. starts good when cold. new regulator, dist.+plugs/cables/coil.

Check the in line fuel filter, could be under hood or along frame. Also there is a screen in the tank but should have been checked when fuel pump was changed.....

Im having issues when i try to start mygrand????

This somewhat sounds like a fuel concern. You can crank on it and come back again and it'll fire back up.It might be just taking an elongated time to build up fuel pressure due to a failing pump and once it does build up it fires. An easy way to check this is to go purchase a fuel rail pressure gauge and attach it to the rail, make sure al connections are tight, then crank on the vehicle when it's cold and record down your fuel spec from the gauge. Then do it once again, and record your spec down.If your fuel pump is failing the pressure will either be well below spec or it will be below for the first reading, and then higher on the second reading.Hope I could help!!!

93 grand cherokee has a very rough idle what could be the problem

Also check the vaccum hose from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake manifold, it is right on top, to the front right of the valve cover where the fuel lines attach to the fuel rail, there is a small vaccum hose that runs from the regulator to the intake manifold, I have a 93 grand cherokee limited w/ 4.0L 6cyl, it was hard to start at times, wouldnt start at times without starting fluid spray and had your symptoms at idle, running rough like it wanted to stall like it was out of gas, I had various opinions ranging from fuel pump was bad to the fuel filter to the fuel presure regulator, the fuel pump relay ,etc....after replacing the relay and having the same symptoms, some digging brought me to this vaccum hose, wich had a break in it, when it was replaced it allowed the regulator to have the correct fuel pressure output and solved all the afforementioned problems way cheaper than the suggested alternitives. good luck.
