a auto parts store can test your battery for free there machine will put the batter under a charge then do a few different load tests to see how it performs. i would also check the battery cables and clean them also check you fan belts for wear and tear.

SOURCE: I have a 2000 jeep
Vapor lock left in the 1960's
You can not use a vehicle with the gas cap off
& evap system open. Don't even try that stuff
Study OBD2 Systems on the internet
You need to stop with all the waiting & just explain
it all to a repair shop & get each issue taken care of.
If I had a vehicle that bulbs kept having an issue, i would
stop using it, before I got run into or a ticket & fix it
You could have alternator problems as well as
a failing fuel pump
Got lost to work on,several different things

I just finishd a job that was simular to this. It was the cable that ran from the ignition switch to the shifter, This wasn't the problem , but led to it. It had tilt steering . It would just go dead and not start, no guages. When I messed with the tilt it would intermmitantly come on and off. I traced it to wires that were up against the cable and had worn. It grounded out the ignition. I repaired the wires and moved them .. fixed. The tail light would not have anything to do with the ignition. It is a seperate issue, but it is the same. grounded out somewhere. Just a note... Wires tend to break at the plugs.

You may have a loose or dirty battery connection. Take of the cables and clean the battery lugs and the terminals. Make sure they are tight when you put them back. Check the connections on the starter as well as the ingnition comes from there. Disconnect the earth cable first and put it on last, this is to prevent heavy shorts that can cause some damage.
