yes you can replace it. the bulb is removed from inside the engine compartment. if the burnt out bulb is on the battery side you will likely have to take the battery out. the socket generally turns about a quarter turn or so... have a look to see if there is a large ring that you turn and remove first.
One important detail do NOT touch the bulb with your fingers as it shortens the bulbs lifespan.

Another possible cause is your coolant sensor. if the sensor goes bad, it will drip coolant but won't notice it because it just seeps down the engine components. Most people don't even realize that there is such a sensor. it will send a faulty reading that its overheating when the coolant level is fine and when enough coolant does seep out it will still say its overheating because it is at that point. I would definitely look into checking your coolant sensor as the cause since it's so hard to even see that it is leaking and its super easy to take out and replace. hope that helps if you're still having problems

The fuse box is located under the hood. Look for a black plastic box under the hood. Open the top of the box to access the fuses. There is alos a fuse puller tool amoung the fuses in the fuse box. Consult your owner's manual for more info.

SOURCE: Where is the thermostat located
I have to have mine replaced as well and found out it is located way behind the engine and will cost around $200 to fix because of labor....the part is only $10.
