Ok thanks am about to but is there a mass air flow sensor cleaner cause se one told me if I use the wrong cleaner. I will damage it or do I have to buy a new one I also change the fuel filter and I'm lookin to clean the throdle

  • Barry Bear Jul 17, 2013

    Body too any other suggestion

  • Ruben Jul 17, 2013

Unplug the mass air flow and see if the engine runs better, if it does, that means the mass air flow, bad or dirty, there's also a vacuum line that goes to the brake booster, make sure this line it's connected to the back of air intake manifold just about under the throttle body

  • Barry Bear Jul 20, 2013

Hi I did the mass air flows d the throddle body got more power but now the rpm niddle goes up and down the service light was on from the drive home now it's off , how do I solve this problem With the rpm Goin up and down drives has not stall yet drove from ct to njthanks again

  • Ruben Jul 21, 2013

It won't stall, leave it unplug until you get a new mass air flow, I have learned that when it gets to sensors you have to go to the dealer ($130 +/-) also the needle going up and down its caused by the unpluged mass air flow sensor ( normal), dont worry you can leave it unpluged and drive it, it won't stall

  • Barry Bear Jul 23, 2013

Hi again everything you told me was very helpful and the heddle stop Goin up and down now it stalls so am unplugging the air flow sensor today after work the check engine light is on not Goin off at all ok so when I get the new air flow sensor everything well go back to normal and the check engine will go off right thanks

  • Ruben Jul 23, 2013

Yeah, like i said before leave it unplugged it won't hurt the engine but it won't run how is suposte too, I strongly recommend clearing the code with a scanner (autozone) if you don't have one, don't try disconnecting the battery because it will take the computer like 200 miles to learn all the sensors, to remove the mass air flow sensor you need to get security torque bits, this are the torque bits whith the little hole on the center, may be you can get a set from sears of harbour freight tools.

  • Barry Bear Jul 23, 2013

Hi the mass air flow sensor is in the air intake it only has two screws filip head screws now that I unplug it only runs for a while am Goin to autozone now dir them to clear it thank I'll let you know the what happen

  • Ruben Jul 28, 2013

    Ok, let me know

My passat cluch burn out should I change the flywheel. I have 180.000 on the dash or can I reuse the flywheel need advise and what is the Goin price to repair cluch thanks

  • Ruben Aug 20, 2013

You have to visually check the flywheel, most of the time it's not necessary, the price depends if you are going to do it or someone else, you can get a clutch at autozone for 200 + $ or maybe eBay will have it cheaper

  • Barry Bear Aug 20, 2013

  • Ruben Sep 11, 2013

Your wipers, radio and the blower for the Ac works?

  • Barry Bear Sep 12, 2013

Yes all works fine I don't know if there is a second fuse box some were I look on the driver side n passenger side and under the hood only one fuse box on the driver side am about to change the turn signal today and see if that works

  • Ruben Sep 12, 2013

Check the ignition switch (purple plug) on the back of the key cilinder, look for burned wires, normally when this switch goes bad it will overheat the wires and they'll get a darker color.

  • Barry Bear Sep 12, 2013

What does ignition switch have to do with my day time running lights and my nite time lights b I'll look

  • Ruben Sep 12, 2013

Your headlight won't turn on unless you have your key on the "ignition" position, there's one wire that powers the headlights

  • Ruben Sep 12, 2013

Did you check the light bulbs ??

  • Barry Bear Sep 12, 2013

Yes that was the first thing I notice was the bulbs I got didn't work and it was brand new then I check the old one and they all good. I don't know Wat else to do but am ready to take off my steering wheel

  • Ruben Sep 12, 2013

SOURCE: i have an 03 merc. sable. 58000 miles. drove 22

I've had the same thing happen with my '03 Sable. at around the same milage. THe one thing is that it only happened when it was cold and damp like early sping in MIchigan. I changed the plugs and wires and seems to be ok now. I'm at 70K and the transmission has gone out! Getting harder to beat the FORD drum when they keep pumping POS vehicles out like this!

It bogs down when you go up a hill or when you give it full throtle

I had the same problem with mine, it did not pick up speed on the hills and max at 35mph on steep climbs. It ended up being a diaphram on the back of the carborator that does not come in the carb rebuild kit so you will have to find a carborator specialist in your area and see if they carry it. That diaphram controls the secondaries for the extra horse power needed for picking up speed and going up hills.
