A broken sway bar will also manifest itself while driving over an uneven or washboard-like road surface. A clanking or clunking sound will emanate from the front or rear suspension. Broken sway bars will emit knocking and scraping noises over potholes and dips, sometimes rhythmically. This happens when a sway bar bushing joint swings freely without support and strikes the chassis frame or control arm. Hope this helps.

My 2002 Impala started knocking while on the freeway. I couldn't try past twenty miles per hour without it knocking again, I put two and a half quarts of gas and it's still knocking!

ok just checking well usaully when it starts knocking that means that either the cam bearings or the crank shaft bearings are already damaged and if the knock is coming from either placemits not good how many miles are on it

Impala rear suspension problem

Could one shock be bad? Causing a difference in bounce return rate? I would crawl under suspended car and check all suspension bolts. Are your bushings in good shape? If one is chewed up or missing then this would cause that misalignement. What kind of suspension do you have? Solid axle or independent susp? I don't know if your car is front or rear wheel drive. I'm guessing front wheel drive.

2000 IMPALA HAS WHAT APPEARS TO BE AN AIR BUBLE ON THE INSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR. CAN IT BE FIXED, OR REPLACED. IF SO HOW. BOB C

Rear view mirror can be easily remove and replaced as an assembly. You may be able to find a used good condition one at a local auto dismantler (wrecking yard).
Look for a set screw or clip that holds the mirror in place.
