the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

most likelly your wheel cilinders are leaking you need to pull the drums and you will see it right away, but if not go to autozone.com and you can buy the repair information for that specific car, just look for alldata.

SOURCE: cant get brake drum off of 1997 chevy lumina

Ok, this is what I used to do when I was a mechanic at Sears.
I would get a medium weight ball peen hammer and hit the drum left and right sides until it got loose.

Make sure the parking brake is not engaged, of course.

This should loosen up the rust that builds up around the hub, and also press the drum brake shoes in a little so that you can remove the drum.

I've never broken a drum this way, and if it would break, it probably was worn out anyway at that point, was the rational.

Hope this helps.

Is there a parts list anywhere for rear brakes for a 1995 chevy beretta

The rear brakes consist of
  1. Drum
  2. Wheel cylinder
  3. Brake Shoes
which you have to get separately at your local part store. The other components can be obtained by purchasing a hardware kit. Which contains springs, keepers, pins....ext One kit contains this hardware for both sides of the rear brake system.

96 chevy beretta..when braking, the left rear of the car squats, left rear tire almost seems to lock up, is this just new brakes time or something more serious?

It sounds like something in the left rear drum is causing it to lock up. It may be contaminated linings, from a leaking wheel cylinder or maybe some broken hardware. You'll have to remove the drum to take a look.
