Do I need to replace transmission fluid?

The maintenance minder is showing B13 which I know the B1 is the oil and filter, tire rotation, etc but the 3 means replace transmission fluid. I had the fluid replaced at 44,700 miles in April of last year. I am up to 57140 miles. I have been told that the transmission fluid is to be changed every 30,000 miles, so I have about 17k miles or so before I need to replace the fluid even though the maintenance minder says to do it, is that right? I will get the oil & filter, and the tires rotated though.

Forget the dash reminder gadgets or manufacture
maintenance schedules
You change trans fluid every 3 years
If you want to change at 30,000 miles that's
perfect,just don't go past 3 years & do power
steering at same time

    The dealership replaced the coolant, transmission fluid, and brake fluid last year in April. I didn't change the power steering fluid yet though. A mechanic told me that the brake fluid shouldn't be changed unless you are replacing a wheel cylinder or something with the brakes.

    Brake fluid is the only fluid other than engine oil that MUST BE CHANGED every 2 years on ALL vehicles What sort of mechanic is that You don't replace wheel cylinder for 10,12 ,15 years unless you never do the fluid them the entire system is ruined from moisture.

    So the manufacture saying to replace the transmission fluid every 30k, is just a preventative measure. I only need to do the oil & filter change and tire rotation then since the fluids were changed last April '12 at 44,307 miles?

    Have no idea what your manufacture says & I'm gave you what I recommend in miles not km,you seem lost & don't apear to grasp vehicle preventative maintenance or what needs to be done & when

Code b13

It's a maintenance minder code. You could look in the owners manual and decipher the code. You will probably find something like this:

B = Replace engine oil and oil filter; inspect brakes, hoses and lines; check parking brake adjustment; inspect tie rod ends, steering gear box, boots, suspension components, driveshaft boots, all fluid levels and condition of fluids, exhaust system, fuel lines and connections

1 = Rotate tires

3 = Replace transmission fluid (for A/T only)

Maintenance Minder 6 Scheduled Maintenance
Recommended service for your 2006 Honda Ridgeline:

Replace VTM-4 rear differential fluid: Driving in mountainous areas at very low vehicle speeds or trailer towing results in higher level of mechanical (shear) stress to fluid or frequently fully loaded. This requires differential fluid changes more frequently than recommended by the Maintenance Minder. If you regularly drive your vehicle under these conditions, have the differential fluid changed at 7,500 miles (12,000 km), then every 15,000 miles (24,000 km).

Maintenance Minder question

transmission oil at 60,000 klms approximately but can be done any time depending on the operating conditions , speed and load
the coolant should be changed when it falls below 50% water anti freeze mix--check with a refractometer
engine oil should be replaced at 5,000 miles or 10,000klms sooner in colder conditions as the water carrying agent deals with more in winter from cold engine starts

I am wondering what is absolutely necessary in terms of maintenance on 2007 mdx at 60000 miles.

There is not much maintinace on these, the trany oil doesnt and should not be touched maybe at 100,000 miles, at 60,000, rotate tires, change oil, check and replace air filter if needed, change cabin filter, and the rest is checking fluids, brakes etc, theres not much the most necessary thing is the oil change and rotate tires, i know the dealer charges alot for nothing, youcan look in the manually in the rear it shows you the services, or just google the year make and model and maintinance required. and it will also show you, good luck hope this is helpful.

B1 engine code on 2007 honda odyssey

It's a maintenance reminder for:
B=replace engine oil and filter/check brake system/check fluid/look car over
1=rotate tires
Honda call this a 7,500k service. it's about $100.

if it was me, i'll just get a oil change and ask them to top off my fluid about $24
rotate tires if need about $20 and ask them to peek at the brake during rotation.

On dashboard where it shows oil life percentage, to the left it says B2. What does B2 stand for?

That is a Message Minder program built into the car. Its telling you to have the vehicle serviced. Owners manual will break it down but basically its telling you to change oil, rotate tires, inspect brakes, replace cabin air filter, check all fluid levels, tire pressures, replace Air filter. etc. Dealers can run 250.00 and up. Most can be done by yourself if you are so inclined or a local shop for less
