Wat is causing my 2001 Chrysler Sebring to have a low whining sound when accelerated. it does not go away. also when taking off you have to push hard on gas pedal to get it to go faster and then it goes too fast? the emmissions control light is on as well.

Don't know why you would be here asking or driving
a vehicle with that issue & the emissions light on.
It should have been in a shop a long time ago
I'm going to guess & say the Exhaust Converter is worn
out & blocking the exhaust getting out & you have to check
why it failed & correct those issues before installing a new one

SOURCE: 96 chrysler sebring whines on acceleration

Sounds like a worn belt. Check the tensioner to make sure it is applying proper tension.

MY 1996 SEBRING HAS A WHINING NOISE WHEN I TURN IT ON AND IT STAYS

Could be low on power streeing fluid, check and fill if needed, also if you have to add, there's a leak some where.

Why does 2001 Chrysler sebring A/C cuts in and

It's low on refrigerant ( probably uses R-134a) available at WalMart. Low refrigerant pressure switch deactivates A/C compressor for safety reasons.

sounds like the coil pack is failing or you could just have water in your fuel.... buy a couple bottles of gas line antifreeze (it sucks up water) and add them to your tank when you fill up.... if that doesn't fix it it is likely the coil pack

Whining sound from under van only when i push the gas.

The serpentine belt is the most common cause for whining sound when accelerating, try to understand if noise is coming from serpentine belt.

Also check power steering belt under steering column, and also the rotor and chain, thei do not make whining noise , but can make noise when accelerating.

The belt is first suspect.
