Passenger window switch works but the drivers side switch does not

was regulator bad? did it work from drivers side switch before you did regulator repair?..if so passenger side switch wiring has issue and is not sending signal through it back to the drivers side master switches.. otherwise you need to pin test for power up power down on drivers side switch and repair that if issue going to the window on passenger side.. (possible pinched at door jam area common)

Window Regulator

The window motor is available from auto parts stores, the regulator is a factory part. For a car that old I would get a used regulator from a salvage yard.

2010 toyota venza side window hasa been replaced and when it goes up to top it goes back down because it thinks ther is something in the way!

Try this

turn the key to the run position, do not try and start. press and hold the window switch in the down position until the window is all the way down, then count to three. Hold the window switch in the up position until the window is all the way up, then count to three. Push the window button down to engage the auto down function (you do not need to hold it down). once the window is all the way down pull up on the window switch momentarily to activate the auto up (you do not need to hold the switch in the up position). The window should now be reset.

My passenger window starts to go up then changes direction and goes back down several times before finally going up all the way

The window will automatically reverse when it senses resistance. The tracks can be lubriacted with white lithium or glicerin. Just spray into the tracks when the window is down. The auto up function will need to be reset after the tracks are lubed up, which is in your owners maunual. Usually you press the down side of switch and release till the window is all the way open and then hold the switch in the down position for a few seconds, you can sometimes hear a little click from the motor to confirm the reset. If the regulator inside the door is beginning to fail, then this will only work for a short time if at all. The motors seem to last a long time, but the regulator, ( the mechanism that actually supports the window) has rivets in it that break or another part fails and soon you are going to need to replace the regulator. Don't let some one sell you the whole thing with a motor, because most of the time it is just the regulator. It is not that hard to do yourself, but maybe the lubricating will work. Read the manual to make sure you are programming the auto-up down function properly and you should be good to go.

Vwpassat20006 1.9TDI, passenger side power window, keeps opening after it is closed from the drivers side, it can keep going up & down about halfway on Its own. Is there a "brain" printed circut...

the modules may need reset if that doesnt work it may need a module for the window motor to reset use switch run window up holding switch in up position until it has been up for 10 seconds then run down in the same manner do this for both front windows if this doesnt work you will need to take it where it can be scanned through the window modules usually vw dealer only has this capability unless you know someone with vagcom

Driver's Side Window Won't Stay Up

As mentioned here, this worked for me on a 55 reg:

Disconnect the battery for 30 seconds. Then follow the calibrate instructions that can be found under "Windows" in the owner's manual. Took less than 5 minutes in all to fix.

2003 vector drivers side power window won't stay up

Your pinch protection is not correctly set. You can defeat the pinch protection by holding down the window lock button when you close the window. However, to "solve" the problem, you need to reset the pinch protection. My dealer charged me $100 to reset the pinch protection on my 2003 9-3 Arc.

Driver side window bumps down when closed.

Turn the key on

Press the window switch, lower the window, continue to hold the window switch down for 15 seconds after the window is completely lowered Don't use the auto feature

Pull the window switch up, raise the window, hold the button up for 15 seconds after the window is fully up. don't use the auto feature

Try the auto down feature again, see if it now works.
