1994 tempo dome light comes on at will, randomly ,cant shut it off haveto pull the bulb whats wrong?? when i works correctly it can be shut onor off at dash light switch or if passenger door opens but light wontcome on when drivers door is opened tried oiling the door jam switches

OK you just simply pull on them the light is built like a fuse just pull it out

Typically, the dome light fuse runs other items as well. If you wish to kill the dome light without stopping other things as well, it would be better to just remove the bulb. You don't say what you are working on, but most dome light covers come off pretty easily by squeezing the plastic and popping them loose.

I would think not correct. GM vehicles of that era were equipped with R.A.P(Random Auxiliary Power) it would keep certain systems on after shutting the car off.....(lights, radio, power windows) for up to 8 minutes. Unless you open the door, that would shut everything down. So if your power is staying on with doors open, most likely one or both of the relays in the RAP is bad

Dome lights come on and stay on when the truck is started and can not manually shut them off? Kills the battery. pulled the F10 fuse for now but what could have caused the change. Randomly it will allow me...

It's probably the headlight switch, but your truck has an odd bit of circuitry. Is there a switch on the glovebox that turns on some of the dome lights? Look around for that and try opening and closing the glovebox to see if it affects the dome lights. If it does, maybe adhusting the latch would help.

Is the battery fully charged.
Sounds like you have a short in or near the fuse block. Best taken to a good mechanic to have it checked.

My 94 tempo gl dome light wont go off no matter what tried all the reg stuff like mistakenly leaving switch on etc i pulled the bulbs checked door switches look ok

there is a switch inside or behind the latch in the door jam i found if you spray wd40 in it, it will fix it.

check your fuses, something is blowing out your bulbs or causing a lack of electrical support, and cant support all your lights working at once...let me know how it goes

check the fuse if not it then check the dash board u hav fuse in there , if that not it then u need a new dash

Probably its one of the door switches thats defect and wire grounds intermittently and dome light stays on!

u have a bad wire in elect. cicuit that grounds!

the circuit has 12v constant to dome light,door switches grounds the circuit to complete loop,is there wiring damage along circuit routing dome light will come on intermittantly,usually its a broken wire at 1 of the switches or along circuit routing,usually its on drivers side,unhook wire from switch check continuity,inspect circuitry routing for damage!
