I have a calibre digital tachometer that I would like to install on my holden rodeo 2005 2.4L petrol as I don't have a rev meter in my instrument, there is a red, black and green wire I know where the red and black go but have no idea where the green one goes. im not very mechanically savy so as much detail as possible would be appreciated thanks in advance
Assuming red is positive, black is negative or neutral the green is usually an earth wire and should be mounted to the cars frame.
Testimonial: "the red is positive, black is earth or negative and the green connects to something that reads the revs ive been looking all over the place and people are saying connect to distrubitor or ignition coil and apparently there is a loose brown wire on the left hand side I can connect to but it is no where to be seen so im completely stumped to the whereabouts this green wire goes"
SOURCE: im trying to install a tacho into my 1993 holden
Hi Dano,
For installing the tacho on a vr there should be a single wire not pluged into anything, on your wire loom under the bonet on the LHS, this is the wire you need..
Please let us know if that was helpful enough.
Thanks
Shiv.
