probably are related ive done this twice it doesnt always work take the piece of key u have an clean with fingernail polish remover an then with q tips clean egnition best u can then apply small amount of supper glue an hold in egnition for about a minute then cross fingers an hope for the best good luck if dosent work get new egnition switch u have done all u can

take it to any chervy dealership and its sup to be under the warranty iam a tech for a dealer,,,here in charlotte,,,ok the remote need to be reprogram again,,,,that y its doin that ok later
My car is stalling to start. If I just hold the key, it will eventually catch and go ahead and crank. I've changed the crank sensor. Fuel pump is good. Any other ideas?
Put the Key in the ignition and turn the key. It should disengage the steering lock and you should be able to pull it out. Make sure you unplug the switch from the back. Here are some really old pics of my 1972 beetle... http://ilikepie.it/VWbug.html
