Ignition switch stuck will not turn wont ether way
Two causes for this:
(1) steering wheel needs to be turned, then try key again.
(2) faulty ignition switch in need of replacement (including a new set of keys).
When starting a car, the ignition is locked if the wheel has been rotated, which is an anti-theft
feature: the car thinks its being stolen when the wheel is turned while there's no key in the ignition.
To fix: turn the wheel back and forth, returning it (one way or another) to the original position
when the car was turned off, and unlocking the ignition, allowing you to start your car.
I PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND IT WILL NOT TURN AND THE WHEEL IS NOT LOCKED, I CAN HEAR THE STEERING LOCK IS SCRAPING. I HAVE PUSHED THE SHIFTER HARD INTO PARK, I TRIED TURNING THE WHEEL, I TRIED STANDING ON THE BREAK PEDAL AND STILL IT WILL NOT TURN.
turn the wheel side to side and try to put the ignition back to were it starts.
