Push shifter hard into park, and foot on brake good too, see if that does it. Are you on a slope by chance?

Key stuck 99 jimmy

could be the switch in the shifter, also think there is a actuator on the column that the switch controls,if you look under the ignition on the plastic housing you will see a little round pop out that has a brass button you can push to get the key to go back.

1997 Mitsubishi Mirage key stuck in ignition. Happened several times over last few weeks but now seems to be really really stuck no matter what I try. Steering wheel doesn't reach a locked position -...

Nope the tumblers in the ignition cylender are worn and bent causing the key to be stuck. Ask any locksmith and they will agree
replace it with new lock cylinder

Key wont turn ignition. ignition tumbler is broke, car is stuck in park in the middle of the street.

You really need a locksmith to sort this out.It is tricky to remove the lock unless you know exactly where to drill.

Ignition switch stuck will not turn wont ether way

Two causes for this:
(1) steering wheel needs to be turned, then try key again.
(2) faulty ignition switch in need of replacement (including a new set of keys).
When starting a car, the ignition is locked if the wheel has been rotated, which is an anti-theft
feature: the car thinks its being stolen when the wheel is turned while there's no key in the ignition.
To fix: turn the wheel back and forth, returning it (one way or another) to the original position
when the car was turned off, and unlocking the ignition, allowing you to start your car.

I have a 2003 saturn vue and my key always gets stuck in the ignition. Now I can't even turn the key at all, I really don't know if I have to change the whole ignition or just the part where the key goes...

It needs a new lock assembly. Or you can do as all the car thieves do and buy a slide hammer and pull your lock out and start it with a screwdriver

Key stuck in the ignition and won't come out

All I can think of is either (1) the switch is not fully returning to the full off position for a number of reasons, or (2) the tumblers in ignition switch is beginning to breakdown. You can change the switch whereby getting a new (different key). But somethings should not be dealt with on our own. In this case you should let a qualified automobile locksmith handle this. Let me know of your decision.

Key stuck in ignition of 1976 chevy corvette stingray 350 auto

If I understand, the key will not rotate to all of the normal positions? If this is true, then I would guess that the trani didn't fully return to the park position please verify, You can check the ignition switch(the one that is half way down the steering column) for defects. Is there any binding, does the rotate freely? Thank you; good luck.
