Sounds like you fried a circuit or two. The battery light means the alternator is not charging the battery which you know.
The charging circuits will need to be checked, it could be a fuse or a fuseable link which is a wire that acts like a fuse.
Testimonial: "I will research and try these, thanks fior the response."
How would i tell if the fuseable links are bad
and which ones?
You check them much like you would a fuse, with a test light or meter. For example, the main wire from the battery to the alternator should be hot with the engine off.

SOURCE: alternator not charging the battery
Take the car to an autoparts store and have the alternator tested. While the output is being checked, move the wires around and see if it affects the output. I had a wire shorting out in the plug once that was intermittently causing the alternator to not charge. I ended up soldering the wire into the plug and it stopped the problem. If the alternator is not charging the battery, it is most likely either a short in the wiring somewhere or a faulty voltage regulator. Hope this helped and best wishes.
