Engine light is on--2000 V6 tacoma prerunner. read out says the problem is a cam positon sensor. How difficult is this to replace your self?

- I had my son's 2000 V6 tacoma computer scanned because the engine light was on. The reading came back to replace the cam position sensor and crank position sensor. I wandered how big of a job this is for a home mechanic.

Usually this is a bit of dirt in the engine plugging the oil port that supplies pressure to the variable valve timing control cam. Change your engine oil every 3000 miles and maybe switch brands. I had this problem on my Matrix until I switched to Castrol GTX 5W30 that cleaned the oil port right out.
