Where is the transmission filter located??

06 vue 6 cyl. can't find trans filter!!

    They indicate the hoda transmission filter is not serviceable.

    Flushing the fluid 3x is the recommended way.

    Usually tranny filters dont need changing - unless there is some other internal damage which requires further work.

It is inside of the transmission oil pan. This pan must be lowered to change the transmission filter. This is true of almost all automatic transmissions. Most people have this done by a repair garage. The oil should be drained from the converter ( if possible) at this time also.

2004 Vue with 6-cyl Honda engine: Dipstick handle is hard to find unless well lit- dark blue and "D" shaped. Driver side, low. Presumably check in Park with engine running and trans at normal operating temp.

If you have the 3.5L engine the transmission filter is not serviceable unless you remove the trans and take it apart. All you can really do is change the fluid about every 60k.

The transmission has an external spin on type filter which is mounted on the outside of the transmission.

First, you MUST verify if this has the CVT (continuously variable transmission) installed. If so, it requires special fluid along with anti-foam additive. Probably stocked only by the dealer. DO NOT add other transmission fluid to a CVT.

there is a sheet metal pan on the bottom of the trans case, remove that pan to change fluid, there is no drain plug, also replace the filter under the pan inside the trans.
