I have a 94/95 BMW 325 TD Diesil, when driving if I apply the brake th clutch pedel drops slightly , so I can't change gear. If i turn off the engine, and start the car again it is fine. This started yesterday, and today the brake fluid light has come on. If I fill the brake fluid resevoir, will this solve the problem immediately? Also, what is the correct brake fluid to use? Thank you for your help! Vicki

I suppose your clutch master or slave cylinder is leaking. You must keep an eye on the brake flui leven and drive to a workshop for a check asap. You can use DOT3 brake fluid.

Th system could also have air in it ... and might need to be properly bled. Look for leakage also - leakage means loss of fluid, AND - air is vaery apt to be getting IN as well! VISUAL INSPECTION and look UNDER the car --- for leakages and oil left behind! If you need to add fluid - Use approved fluids! One kind does NOT fit ALL!
