I have a 2001 bmw x5 3.0, I was getting a bunch of codes, but to make story short. I finally got them all off, but still had a problem starting, so the last thing i was going to change was the fule filter which was done also. I changed gas from local station that I use prem. gas. then I thought if I use a better gas it would help then when to Shell and put their super prem. I came home right away pared it til next morning, and when i when to start it, it felt like it was just bogging down and i couldn't drive it without stopping and shutting down, Good thing i was close to home, anyway, that's when I put the fuel filter in and still having same results of it bogging down right away. Sorry so long, but thought i better say some of the story

does it have spark? you did verify fuel pump working properly? could it have a clogged converter? is the engine lite on?
SOURCE: Truck won't start right away when its hot.
U MAY HAVE A DEFECTIVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMP (ECT) SENSOR, U NEED A SCAN TOOL TO TEST THIS PART, THIS IS NOT THE SENDER FOR THE TEMP GUAGE THIS IS THE SENSOR THAT TELLS THE FUEL INJECTION COMPUTER HOW COLD OR HOT THE ENGINE IS, IF IT READS LOW THE SYSTEM WILL GET TO MUCH FUEL AND CAUSE A HARD START, DO U NOTICE ANY BLACK SMOKE WHEN IT FINALLY STARTS?

Not good...you did more than I would have done...sounds like its time to take it to a qualified repairman and have him diagnose the problem(s).
SOURCE: How to replace 2001 Chevy Taho fuel filter
the fuel filter is located down under the middle of the frame rail, on the drivers side, remove the lines from the filter, look out b/c some fuel will come out after diconecting the line. replace with the new filter make sure you get the "FLOW" "should be marked on the filter" pointing to the front of the car
SOURCE: changed gas, now wont start
Now you need to start fresh & have the car properly
diagnosed & the issue resolved at a repair shop.
You had a lot of codes & clearing them verse diagnosing
why they are there, is not a fix for anything.
