95 corolla cant get broken lug bolt out

I have pulled the brake drum and have access to the bolt, but with a 2 pound hammer it will simply not come out! Any suggestion on why this broken bolt will not come out?

Have you tried heating the drum?  Take it to a tire place and have it pressed out.  However, you should be able to just hammer it out.

Is it possible to replace broken lug bolts without removing the hub on a 95 protege

In the rear you have to remove the brake drums, on the front you must remove the roter. but they will knock right out with a hammer

Can't get drum off

once tire is off get a large hammer (2 - 3 ) pound and hit drum several times on the face of drum and along the outer area to brake it free, most times the center of drum rusts to axle shaft causing it to stick. dont be afraid to hit the bastard !! and then use larger screwdriver and install behind the drum between the back plate and pry off while hitting opposite side from the back with hammer. I recommend putting on lug nut just enough to cover the threads on lugs so you do not accidently hit them with hammer. and yes you will !! then remove nuts upon drum removal

How do i remove the rear drum on a 1986 chevy p/u with 8-lug 14-bolt rear

The brake drum is most likely just rusted to the axle. Spray a liberal amount of WD-40 where the drum meets the axel and repeat. Apply some pressure to the drum via a screwdriver or pry bar and smack the axel with something like a three pound sledge hammer and it should pop loose.

Cant get them off the van. is there a snap-ring? rear brake drums

sometimes there a clip over the stud were the lug nut goes you would see it once the wheel is off, try hitting drum with a hammer in front to break free, if drum is loose but wont come all the way off then you will have to unadjust the brake adjuster ,its done through a window on the rear of the backing plate ( backside of were the drum is,) hope this helps.

My son's Daewoo Lanos has two stripped lug bolts on one

you can get replacement bolts and nuts at any auto parts store. just tell them what kind of car it is, and theyll match you up with the right ones. be sure to replace the studs and the nuts. theyre fairly inexpensive. to replace them, you remove thebrake drum or rotor, and simply use a hammer to pound them out backwards. or, they may be mounted on the cars spindle, rather then the rotor or drum. after you have them out, slip the new one into the hole. they must be pressed in, so its not gonna go in all the way. the easiest way to do it is to set it in the hole, put the nut on the threaded end, and just tighten up the nut. that will pull the stud all the way through the hole. then simply reinstall anything you removed from the car, and make sure there is a good amount of torque used to tighten the wheel down.

03 carolla drum brakes

There should be 2 threaded holes in the drum near the studs. Use penetrating oil on the center hub and screw two 8mm bolts into those holes. As you tighten the bolts it will pull the drum off the hub.
Some smaller toyotas don't have the threaded holes, you have to beat on the face of the drum with a hammer until it pops free. Crude but effective.

Broken lug bolt

Easy. Take wheel and tire off, and remove the brake drum, if it has drum brakes. With a hammer, hit the broken stud until it pops out. Slide the new stud into the hole, and, using some thick washers, screw the lugnut onto the new stud, over the washers. Tighten it until the stud is pulled all of the way in. Easier done with an air wrench, however.

Replacment of wheel lug bolts on rear wheels

The bolts can be replaced 1 of 2 ways w/o pulling axle. Need to take rotor off and either press bolts out with an arbor press or can be tapped out with a copper or brass hammer. Once out, the new ones can be pressed in by putting about 4 or 5 washers on and then tightening the lug nut down until the lug is pulled snug into the roter. Once snug, the roter can then be reinstalled on the wheel and brake assy put back. Caution!! Brake assy needs to be supported up out of the way with wire or coat hanger while removing rotor. Undo force of weight on brake pad assy can damage hose or unit itself.
