Problem for Jeep 1996 Grand Cherokee
1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4wd 4.0 I have had
1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4wd 4.0 I have had to replace the ignition coil 3 times in a little over a week. The Jeep starts and runs fine for a few days, then while driving on the road the Jeep just shuts down, usually takes it about 10minutes before able to start it again, so i checked to see if its firing when it will not start and No it is not firing, So I replaced the coil and it ran fine for a few more days then the same thing happened. The first 2 coils were purchased at Autozone, The one I installed today came from NAPA. Dont know if it is just bad coils or if something else on the Jeep may be causing this to happen. If anyone can, Please help with this problem. Thanks!

Also check the crankshaft position sensor by checking if you get any additional error code.
