1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4wd 4.0 I have had to replace the ignition coil 3 times in a little over a week. The Jeep starts and runs fine for a few days, then while driving on the road the Jeep just shuts down, usually takes it about 10minutes before able to start it again, so i checked to see if its firing when it will not start and No it is not firing, So I replaced the coil and it ran fine for a few more days then the same thing happened. The first 2 coils were purchased at Autozone, The one I installed today came from NAPA. Dont know if it is just bad coils or if something else on the Jeep may be causing this to happen. If anyone can, Please help with this problem. Thanks!
check the fusible link , ingition swith ,distributor asembly and srurk plug .for loose connection and the distributor asembly with the spurk plugs firing order.I thgink it should be 1,3,4,2.dont forget to check the ground .

just started today, was backing up and it stopped and said to check gages. Same day, 1/2 hour later, quit in traffic. Had to shut it off and then restart. Is this a transmission problem? I just had the oil changed and checked all fluids last week as it felt like it was driving funny.
