Have taken auto to 2 different repair shops. Each place had replaced different sensors, but the light continues to come back on. Sometimes I am a just sitting at the stop light waiting for the light to change and the engine light comes on. Other times I have been slowly turning a corner and the car jerks and then the light comes on.

I've got the same make/model and issue. I've got a mechanic I trust who changed the spark plugs and pc valve (about $200). The problem has persisted and he's telling me we need to change the spark plug wires which I avoided because they were going to cost me $120 @ Autozone. So I knew if I'd ordered through my mechanic or the dealer they would have been twice that not including labor. If it doesn't work...I'll be calling click and clack.
One thing I can say...is that this car is the best example of why you need a trustworthy mechanic. Someone who is willing to try and eliminate an issue one at a time versus what they did to you. I really love my car and have grown to realize the parts are hard to find and rival BMW's in price. Find another mechanic...and if when you buy a part for routine maintenance...buy two.

Most auto parts stores Advance/ Autozone etc will get the diagnostics codes from cars computer and tell you why the light is on and what the problem is if there is a problem.

Make sure your gas cap is tight. also go to a Auto Zone they will clear the code for free.

Sounds like you may be passing moisture to the O2 sensor. #1 make you sure you are using a GOOD grade of Gasoline. You may need to add a bottle or 2 or DRI-gas to you gas tank. A good bottle of LUCAS fuel treatment wouldn't hurt at this point either.

normally this is an hour long job on most vehicles. the price of the part can range anywhere from 50 to 200 depending on the vehicle. if autozone didnt have a listing for it contact your local dealer and have your v.i.n. handy. ask them if there is any recall or service bulletins on this part or problem. good luck.
