How's the inside of the cap and rotor ? It could be cross-firing inside the cap.
You could also have a major vac leak somewhere and the engine is starving for fuel.

Testimonial: "the cap and rotor look ok but it still just just looses it when you try to accelerate and when you try to just keepn it at a constant speed"

make sure all wires are secure on the plugs. Make sure that if you bought the plugs aftermarket, that they are the suggested equipment from the Ford (http://www.car-stuff.com/carparts/fordtaurus20002000motorcraftmisp432154315.html Make sure the plugs (gap) were not damaged during installation. 1973 ford f 250 new carb, and gas tank. fuel pump is less than a year old. will not start/run. acts like it is starved for gas.

Hey Dutch, have you tried anything like starting fluid to see if it will run..If it will not run, try removing the fuel line going to the carb..(does this carb have a filter in the inlet fitting???)..once the fuel line is loose.. (BE CAREFUL!) ..try starting the engine and see if fuel is pumped through the line to the carb...if you are not getting gas there.. time to work backwards until you find the problem..(does this engine have the fuel pump mounted on the side of the engine,if yes.. remember the fuel pump has to "pull" the fuel from the tank)..If you are getting fuel TO the carb.. make sure the carb is "taking" the fuel..(inlet filter).if you are getting fuel to the carb,, and it will still NOT RUN..(and won't run using "starting fluid")..its time to start looking for a timed spark..(assuming the engine has compression).. when you have done this, reply back to me on here... thanks... please mark as helpful.. Good luck..

2006 dodge stratus looses power after running for a while

either your fuel filter or fuel pump is clogged from all the debris from the gas tank , you are going to have to change out the filter or empty your gas tank and pull your fuel pump out and change your filter on your pump out.

I have a 1995 dodge caravan with 3.0 engine that is not getting fuel. i have replace the fuel pump and the relay and the fuse is good also. what am i missing that i need to check?

If you can pull the fuel line, past the fuel pump, off, turn the motor over to see if gas shoots out of the fuel lines. If it doesn't your fuel filter might need to be changed. Also try to see if your getting fuel past the filter useing the same method. After that pull your air filter off so you can look into the carb to see if fuel is being pumped to the carb. Be careful if the car backfires thru the carb. it can catch fire and the flame will pull the gas to the carb and it will keep burning and get bigger and hotter. I had this happen and I just stuck a shop rag in the carb and put the flame out. Don't burn your car up, your house, your self etc.

92 dodge b250 runs fine then after 5-6 miles it will start acting llike its not getting any gas and backfire threw carb just put new fuel filter and fuel pump relay on it and it still does it

This happens when the fuel pump is getting bad. I will recommend you do a replacement.

The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank which can be reached by removal of the back seat.

Be careful and ensure the replacement has the same rating with the old one.

Good luck and remember to rate this solution.

1999 Gmc Sierra has no power

Sounds like the fuel supply is inadequate. Check for a plugged fuel filter, or possibly the fuel pump is losing pressure. I had a 93 Chevy V6 that acted the same way, and after checking everything else I replaced the fuel pump, which solved the problem.
