Changed spark plugs for first time. Drove half a mile and engine cuts off and won't start for about 10 min. then starts and does the same thing. Is their a security ignition cut off feature I'm unaware of and how do you reset it?

- Yes..coil on plug..called dealer he also thinks it's a bad coil. I will buy a good one and replace until problem solved unless there is a coil test I can do??Clarification Request

- I thought sputtering suggests misfiring..this just dies completely without any sputtering beforehand...one other thing..i noticed in a Haynes manual they mention to disconnect neg battery lead before coil/plug removal.
