Question about 2006 Chrysler Town & Country

1 Answer

Air comes out of rear floor vents but not out of rear head vents

The rear air conditioning in my 2006 Chrysler Town & Country works fine, but only blows from the floor vents and not from the overhead vents. Could it be a problem with the switch?

SOURCE: front vents will not work

If they are stuck on defrost, then the problem is a little vaccum line that comes through the firewall as all the climate controls are vaccum controlled,so look for a small green or black plastic line unhooked.

SOURCE: 2005 Chrysler Town and Country air conditioning

I would be looking at a shorted blower resistor it is located behind the glove box on the HVAC housing. Prob the switch contacts with a 12 volt test light if the bulb intesity does not change the blower resistor is bad. The resister is at fault about 99% of the time.

Air only blows from the dash, no mater where you put the control. It will not defrost or put air on the floor

This can only be 2 things. 1. Your selector switch for the vent controls is defective. 2. A vacuum hose that powers the vent is undone under the hood or dash. There is a 3 but could happen. Your vent door on the floor board is stuck. Check all 3 and let me know if I can help you more and thanks for using FixYa.

2006 Town & Country no air conditioning

The plug kit was maybe a 10 dollar part + freon & labor you could have gotten it cheaper, evaporator leakage would be common on any make but seems chrysler has had more of them because there are more of them on the road compared to the other makes.Climate (salt belt region) and vibration are contributing factors to failure but that will apply to any vehicle no matter the make.

Town & Country 2007 LX model aircondition not working

It does have air conditioning installed. It may also have rear a/c. The rear a/c evaporator is probably leaking freon. I have replaced many rear evaporators on 2006 and 2007 Chrysler minivans as a result of a design change in 2006. Recharge the a/c and add dye to the system. If it has rear air, look behind the right rear wheel in the fender area under the car where the a/c lines go into the body.
