Question about 2009 Toyota Camry

Open Question

Burning oil camry

I bought a new 2009 Camry, did all the required maintance on time. I have 80,000 miles on it, warranty up at 60,000. I took it to the delaer because of a rattling noise, & oil light would come on, when I hit the brakes. No check engine light ever came on. So the dealer, told me I need a new engine, that the compression is 75% when it should be 130%. Also that its "blowing by the piston rings & burning oil". I never had any kind of warning that my engine was failing & this could've happened b4 60,000 mile warranty ran out. No oil leaks on pavement, no burning blue smokefrm tail pipe. No warning at all that something was wrong. The dealer wants me to pay $3700 & they'll kick in $1500 for a new engine. Why would I pay for another "bad" yet "new" engine, I'm still gonna get the same crap engine I had as b4. I suggest anyone with these problems to call corporate Toyota at 800-331-4331, even if your out of warranty, Toyota putting in defective engines in cars. CALL & COMPLAIN, you want it fixed at no cost to you. I hope this helps someone else.

It hasnt been a month since the oil was changed in my 2011 Toyota Camry and the maintance required was reset. Now the maintaince required has now came back on. What would the the problem since I know

Take it back to the oil change place. Or check the oil. If a seal is leaking or oil filter was not tightened or put on correctly oil may have leaked out and you will blow your engine!

Is is there any oil leaking in garage or driveway or where you park?

I have a 2009 Camry. It vibrates like crazy the

being a 2009, dont have anyone touch it, authorized toyota dealership only, beside doing oil change. anyone does any repair work beside toyota dealership it will void the warranty which has Bumper to bumper 3/36 and powertrain 5/60. take it to them and have them diagnose the problems, if they cant answer of fix the problems take it to another dealership. if two dealership cant fix the issue contact the manufacture and explained the issue if no help then, I would go ahead a file lemon car. dont take no BS from any dealership, you spend allot of money on that car knowing is going to be good to you for many years; not frustrations for many years.

I have a 2007 Camry and the check engine came on for one day then shut off. When hooked up to a computer it had a code for ECM and I was sent to the dealer. I was told it was under warranty but Toyota said...

The Toyota Factory Warranty for the Engine Control Module (the ECM) is 8 years/80,000 miles; from the date of first use.

Your ECM should be a covered item.
