2000 silverado brake problems

When i brake there is a thumping that sounds like it is coming from the back my brake pads have all been replaced and the rotors look ok not sure if the calipers need to be replaced. the thumping is loud and getting worse. also the passenger rear tire wears faster and differently then the other four. could this be a problem with the caliper?

No
it indicates that the problem noise is coming from a failing suspension mount and rubber or failing wheel bearings
Take it to an accredited suspension shop that can check/replace the bearings and any failed suspension parts then do the wheel alignment on the rear end first then the front end

Have someone push & release pedal while at wheel with problem. See if it takes a while or slow to release. If yes, have wrench ready on bleeder screw, and try again, if it sticks/holds, crack bleeder screw, if it releases, I'd replace hose.

where do you live meaning if you live on mountain or driving down steep incline every day you will ride brakes every day.that will wear on them a lot.use manual low1 gear coming down mountain.also buy a good brand brakes .i learned a long time ago if you pay more .it will last more.longer.

SOURCE: 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 New Rotors, Calipers, Pads, and rubber lines, why do all four brakes not release completely and they get hot?

I would think it is something going on with the master cylinder or booster. Even the ABS could be affecting it.

I'm driving a 2000 Chrysler 300M. Had front brake pads & rotors changed 2 weeks ago. Front end has been noisy since & I suspect sticking calipers , as i was informed they did not get clean

The front calipers are not the problem...did a shop replace the pads and rotors? Or did a friend replace these parts. The Chrysler front pads and rotors are an excellent design...easy to service and replace parts...only 2 bolts hold on each caliper, and the rotor is held in place with the caliper, and wheel. My first thought was a front wheel bearing is grinding, but you should have noticed this before the brake parts change. The pads could be installed backwards also...my second thought was you may have a loose wheel or two...retighten all 5 lug nuts by using the "star" tightening method, you may be surprised that the loose lug nuts are the only problem. Hope this helps.

There is a thumping sound coming from the rear end of my '06 Grand Prix. It isn't a constant thump and sometimes it happens when I apply the brakes

The thumping Would likely be warped rotors causing the pads to rock in the carrier, (Assuming the anti rattle clips were installed at the time brakes were replaced?) Turn or replace rear rotors

Anti-lock brake and brake light come together and hear and feel a thumping in the left front wheel

Probably a bad bearing. Speed sensor is down there thats why the lights come on. Both lights will come on with ABS problems. But the brake light on by itself is low fluid or the e brake is pulled

I replaced the pads on my 2005 Honda Accord. I had

ABS only senses if the wheel is spinning or not.
"Thumping sound" sounds like a bad problem. I've not had thumping sound from my front brakes ever.
I don't know how a caliper could cause thumping.
Is everything installed correctly and do the brakes stop the car??

My rear brake was noise( make sound look like the pad is need to be replace) when I apply break. Check the pad/rotor are good shape, clean did not help at all.

brake pads (especially rear) can become glazed. causes can be driving style, replacement of pads and no rotor resurface, or excessive heat due to binding. if you are sure pad life is good u can try to remove pads scuff the pad surface with sand paper and reinstall. if that takes care of the noise u may want to have rotors resurfaced to help prevent re-glazing.

ceramic brake pads are much less likely to esperience this problem.
