I am confused if you are looking for the firing order or the ignition timing. The firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. The distributor runs clockwise and in order starting at noon = 1. Your PCm will adjust your timing as needed and should not need any adjustment unless you have removed and re-installed the distributor.

Most all early GM straight 6 firing order is 1,5,3,6,2,4

Are you check right "firing order" ? Some "check engine" light on dashborad turn on?

Here is a schematic of your engine layout and the firing order.

4.3L engine. Firing order: 1-6-5-4-3-2 . Distributor rotation: clockwise

if you know the firing order, then get #1 on TDC, and then take the cap off, the rotor should be pointing forward, thats where number 1 wire should go.

The correct firing order is 18436572. If you need the correct cylinder locations they are as follows:
Drivers side from the front 1 3 5 7
Passenger side from the front 2 4 6 8

1994 Chevrolet C 1500 5.0 liter V-8 VIN "H"
