When i turn my lights on while driving A code reads, at the odometer, NO BUS - My warning lights flashed on and a dinging sound could be heard. my oil light and engine light came on. My gas, speed and RPM hands do not work. My air bag light stays on as well. i do have head lights but the light will not come on to tell me that I am on high beam. My radio works, no problem. My dinging sound detectors that lets me know my keys are in the switch or that I have left my lights on does not come on anymore. I have checked every fuse, and disconnected the battery to clear it....nothing has worked! This is a 2006 Jeep Liberty.

You may need the dealer for this.
NO BUS means the body computer, engine computer, and instrument cluster are not talking to each other correctly. It could be a wiring problem or something in one of the components.

SOURCE: A code read at the odometer NO BUS - My oil light

Locate the fuse in the fuse box the =Bus fuse may be blown, if the fuse is not blown then the voltage regulator on the back of the instrument panel has gone bad and you will have to pull the cluster out to fix it.

2003 dodge caravan dies while driving, no power at all but all my dash lights light up and flash?

You'll need an OBD-II scanner tool to read the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) which will help in troubleshooting the problem. You can either rent or buy one (Sear, NAPA, Pep Boys, or Auto Zone). Or else have the car towed to your local Dodge dealership for repairs or to any local auto repair shop w/ ASE certified mechanic.
If you are able to pull the codes before going to a shop, post them and we can take it from there.

On my 2008 chrysler pacifica while coming home we heard a ding and where our compass is it said perform service, what does that mean

If you heard a ding and the light also came on I would have the garage check the car out. It might be a coincidence but it looks likely that whatever happened (ding) the cars computer registered its effect and is not seeing what it would like to see to remain happy. The computer will store the error as a DTC diagnostic trouble code and your local garage can read this code to help identify and repair whatever went 'ding'.

Changing dashboard light

Hi,

This solution will be of great help to you,even in the case of future or other dashboard problems;
Instrument cluster consists of electronic analog gauges, various warning lights, and optional tachometer. Vehicles equipped with tachometer have an electronic vacuum fluorescent transmission range indicator (PRND3L),odometer and trip odometer display. Vehicles without tachometer are equipped with a cable-operated transmission range indicator.
Instrument cluster is equipped with the following warning lights:
Battery voltage.
Cruise (speed control).
Door ajar.
Fasten seat belt.
Lift gate ajar.
Low fuel level.
Low windshield and washer level.
Traction Control.
The Body Control Module (BCM), which receives input from various sensors, sends display information to instrument cluster and operates gauges. Instrument cluster incorporates a self-test diagnostic feature to identify electronic problems. BCM, Powertrain Control Module (PCM), and Transmission Control Module (TCM) are continuously monitored by the diagnostic system.

SELF-DIAGNOSTICS
With ignition off, press and hold TRIP and RESET buttons while turning ignition switch to ON position. Continue to hold TRIP and RESET buttons until odometer window displays CODE (approximately 5 seconds). If problem exists, system will display diagnostic trouble codes. See DIAGNOSTIC CODE CHART table. If no problem exists, Code 999 (end test) will be displayed.
DIAGNOSTIC CODE CHART
CodeDescription
110.......Cluster Memory Fault
111.......Cluster Calibration Fault
905.......No CCD Bus Message From TCM
921.......Odometer Fault From BCM
940.......No CCD Bus Message From PCM

After diagnostic code display ends, instrument cluster will go into each of the following tests in order:
Dim test.
Calibration test.
Odometer segment test.
Electronic Transmission Range indicator segment test.
Dim Test
CHEC-0 will be displayed in odometer window. Instrument cluster will dim Vacuum Florescent (VF) display. If VF displays do not dim, a problem in instrument cluster exists. See BODY CONTROL COMPUTER TESTS in BODY CONTROL COMPUTER article.
Calibration Test
CHEC-1 will be displayed in odometer window. Each of instrument cluster gauges will move sequentially through each calibration point. See GAUGE CALIBRATIONS table. If gauge needle is not calibrated properly, a problem in instrument cluster exists.

Odometer Segment Test
CHEC-2 will be displayed in odometer window. Each segment of odometer will light sequentially. If any segment does not light, replace instrument cluster.
Electronic Transmission Range Indicator Segment Test
CHEC-3 will be displayed in odometer window. Each segment of electronic transmission range indicator will light sequentially. If any segment does not light, replace instrument cluster.

Last night, i startred my car and the wrench wartning light came on and it stated on the odometer that it couldnt read the odometer. It felt as if it could get enough power to move. I turned off the car....

The wrench warning lamp, usually means trhat it is time to service the car, it is activated by the odometer, when it rteaches the service interval mileage from the last time it was set.

Odometer has warning code what is it no bus5

The bus is the communication interface between the many modules or computers on your vehicle. The engine and transmission modules need to be able to communicate with the cluster as well as the airbag, antilock brakes, and body control module to turn certain lights on and make gauges function. "No bus" means the communication line is either open or shorted and the cluster can't determine the inputs from the other modules. Any given module on the vehicle can pull the bus down as well as wiring. It is most likely a module causing the problem. One way to find the culprit is to disconnect each module with the key on until the odometer comes back to life. If it starts and runs, drives and shifts normal, I would do the engine and transmission last. I would start with the ABS and overhead console (if it has one). I hope this helps.

Buick Regal 2001 LS dashboard lights flash off and on

It turned out the ground wire to the battery was loose, Evidently, it loosened up when driving so mimiced the earlier symptoms because it connection was sporadic. I hooked up to a computer to verify after connection tightened and it came away with no errors or problems.
