I have a 50s model jaguar wheels are seized up

its been stud for a long wile. you need to get the old oils out gear box engine oil /dif oil and put new oil in. then you need to take the wheels off and need to spray deep penetrating oil into the shafts. dif etc then this is going to be the worst part brake the brake pads of the front wheels clean the disc's and check piston for leaks as the rubber seal may have gone from rust. do same to drums on back. after all this is done it should be all right to move them but take it slow a few moves at a time. did all this to a jaguar sat for 30 years in a grass field underneath was nearly rotted through but was not my car and it is now all fixed and in car shows now. what ever you do don't try to run it with the engine, pull it with another car. can blow the gear box or engine or dif if you try to use the engine.only when it is free use the engine.

2006 tribeca subaru rear differential light is on

The rear differential warning lamp tells you if the rear differential fluid is too hot. In my case (others) and probably yours case too, it is because the wire connection has become dirty or corroded.

Tools: 180 to 220 grit sandpaper (or dremel with wire brush attachement), flashlight, paper towel. Optional: dielectric grease

Repair directions: slide under vehicle from the back (I didn't need to jack it up at all, you may want to or need to). The differential is the center section of the rear axle. On the top of the differential you will see a single wire connection. Pull the plastic wire connection off the spade. use the paper towel to clean any goo off the spade, then clean it using the sandpaper. Put dielectric grease on the connection (optional). Replace the wire connection. Your problem is solved!

If you have not changed or checked your differential fluids, you should do so. The rear dif uses a very common 80W-90 gear lube, but the front dif uses a rare type that will probably require you get it changed at subaru.

When I am traveling about 45mph I notice gear oil on my rear window.

Gday mate, geoff here, well gear oil up the tail gate would probably be a leak in the rear Dif, try looking under to find the trail of oil to its source, then post agian if you need, could be overfull & coming out of dif, there is also a hose that goes up into the bodywork from the dif , this is the breather, its hosed up high so that when you go into lets say cold water the dif doesnt **** water in when cooling from the water, hope this starts the process, correctly, geoff.,

Gear box oil should be changed after how long?and the specification of that oil?

manual gearboxes are "filled for life"BUT 100k seems right.(ep90)for auto boxes all filters/oil should be 75k (mostly town driving)and ATF is used,as with all oils the best you can afford.
