Same evap code on my 2004 5 speed sunfire. It's been at the dealers for a week with no diagnosis. GM is not hleping. Coincidently, it came on after replacing my hydrolic clutcn due to broken release piston. But of course, it's not due to anything the dealer die. BTW, this care still has the original tires on it. 28700 miles. Any suggestions, commentary, advise?

Hello tiasr06,

The problem is the purge solenoid or the purge vent. I would change both of them and your problem will go away. The purge solenoid is located near the power steering pump and the purge vent is under the car, in the back, behind the gas tank on the driver's side.

Dodge avenger 2008 codes

You can go to Advance Auto, Auto Zone, or other auto parts stores and they will hook up their OBD diagnostic tool to your car and it will read the codes that are causing you your problem. Then they can tell you what the code means, or at least a general idea of where the problem is. For instance, I had a check engine light on, I took it to Advance Auto, they identified the code and told me it was related to the ignition or a spark problem. He told me in his experience to check the spark plugs and spark plug wires first. It was a cracked spark plug boot that gave me an ignition problem whenever it rained or was damp/humid out. You can also google the actual code once you know it, the auto parts stores will give you a printout after they run the OBD scan tool on your car.

My service light is on.... what can it be???? it's a 2002 pontiac sunfire

if you will need to hook up a code tester to the aldl link under your instrument panel, normally located on the drivers side close to the steering wheel, this will give you any trouble codes that your computer in your car has stored, most auto part stores do this for free.

Just wondering what I can use to repair the gas line on a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire? was told to use rubber repair kit or flare kit

No! you are working with fuel resistant rubber. Please dont mess around with factory fuel lines. Consult dealer or auto parts store for price and availability. Good luck, Best regards

The car wont excelerate and i know all is fine with everything except a sensor and i knowits not the o2 sensor whats the other one called?

If you have a bad sensor, it should store a trouble code in the onboard diagnostic computer. Have it scanned for codes to narrow the problem down. There is no point to guessing. if no scanner then most auto parts store will scan for free. advanced auto, auto zone, etc. check to be sure fuel filter is not plugging up. maf sensor symtoms, poor running, stalling, check engine light should be on. lack of power, spark knock/detonation, buck/****, hesitation on acceleration, also hard shifts. check fuel filter first !! if you need more info. just let me know.

NINE CODE POP UP ON MY1996PONTIAC SUFIRE WONT PASS INSPECTION

I dont know what you have not done, but here are some simple solutions to help. If you have a local chain auto parts store nearby, they can resolve your codes with a obd11 code reader. You may also want to replace both the fuel tank cap and the oxygen sensor. These are two simple items that are easily overlooked. The code reader is generaly a free service from the auto parts store, they can also recommend what other items you may need to correct the problem.

Unable to change serpentine belt on 2000 sunfire 2.2.litre we run the belt through properly and there is still excess belt left over do you need to tighten any pulleys and if so with what tool?

No,check the routing again,on the back of the package it came in,Or you got a belt for a 2.2 with AC and you don't have it.And the last possibility is they just gave you the wrong belt,Maybe go to a different auto store

Trying to change out the fuel line going to the fuel filter. auto store claims they gave me the correct one. was not the right stuff. any suggestions??

Try a different store and see if they look up the same one. Quite often their computer gives them the wrong number, and they give you the wrong part. Nobody to blame but the guy who enters the numbers.
