I am not the most mechanical guy and i did it with out much problem. You can get the fans at alot of car parts houses. i just layed under neith the front bumper and there were only a couple of screws and a connector to plug back in.

check you throttle body whether is clean if not clean it. Also check for any vacuum leak,spark plugs,blogged fuel filter.

Have a 96 impala ss and there is a scraping noise from transmisson? Just had an engine and transmission swap, possible yoke sleeve?
I would check the torque converter dust shield for being bent and scraping on converter as it spins.
