The sensor should be on the side of the transmission, but it needs to be tested before you replace it.
Could be a problem inside the transmission.

Where is 2011 Buick Lucerne output and input speed sensor?

The output and input speed sensors on a 2011 Buick Lucerne are located on the transmission. The output speed sensor is located on the driver's side of the transmission, near the front of the vehicle. The input speed sensor is located on the passenger side of the transmission, near the rear of the vehicle.
To change the sensors, you will need to:
  1. Raise the vehicle: Use a jack to lift the front of the vehicle off the ground. Make sure the vehicle is secure and stable before working under it.
  2. Locate the sensors: Follow the transmission housing to the front and rear of the vehicle to find the output and input speed sensors.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors: Use a small pair of pliers to gently pull the electrical connectors off the sensors.
  4. Remove the sensors: Use a socket wrench to remove the mounting bolts that hold the sensors in place. Then, gently pull the sensors out of the transmission.
  5. Install the new sensors: Reverse the steps above to install the new sensors. Make sure the sensors are securely fastened and the electrical connectors are properly seated.
  6. Lower the vehicle: Carefully lower the vehicle back to the ground using the jack.
It is important to follow proper safety procedures when working on a vehicle. If you are not comfortable or experienced in automotive repairs, it is recommended to have a mechanic perform the sensor replacement.

Ok so I changed the speed sensor by the transfer case on my 2001 Jeep Cherokee sport (xj) and I'm having trouble finding the other speed sensor location any advice?

On a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport (XJ), there are typically two speed sensors: the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) and the rear axle speed sensor. The VSS is located on the transmission or transfer case, while the rear axle speed sensor is located on the rear differential housing. Here are some tips to locate the rear axle speed sensor: 1. Locate the rear differential housing: The rear differential is typically positioned towards the rear of the vehicle, underneath the rear cargo area. Look for the large metal housing connected to the rear axle. 2. Identify the speed sensor: The rear axle speed sensor is usually mounted on the differential housing itself. It will have a wiring harness connected to it. 3. Follow the wiring harness: Trace the wiring harness from the rear axle speed sensor. It will lead you to a connector that is plugged into the vehicle's wiring system. The connector may be located near the rear axle or along the frame. 4. Inspect the differential housing: Look closely at the differential housing for a small protrusion with a threaded hole. This is where the rear axle speed sensor is installed. It may have a retaining bolt securing it in place.

Where is the transmission sensor located?

The transmission sensor or speed sensor is located in most vehicle located on the transmission case. These speed sensors are driven by a gear located on the output shaft. The speed sensor's driven gear can be either machined or fastened by a clip. The driven gear is made by plastic to make it softer than the drive gear. It's located on the end of the vehicle speed sensor.
