2006 ford explorer won't start, just clicking sound

I just tried to start my explorer and there is nothing but a clicking sound and seems to be going thru a program of somekind. It keeps making noises like it's trying to find a way to start.

the car is actually making the clikking noise with out any key in the ignition. You can hear it in the stearing column and under the hood. It's sounds like it's trying to find some program.

could it be a fuse? It was fine all day! Just went to start it and it wouldn't turn over and began this cliking noise every 2-3 seconds.

You just have a dead battery. now you could have a problem with the alternator which is why the battery is dead. you may want to have it checked. whenever i think i have a dead battery i turn on the lights and turn the key. if the lights do come on with the battery dead, when you turn the key they will almost go out if the battery is dead. Hope it helps

Horn has stopped working on my 2006 Ford Explorer. The fuse seems to be fine. What could be the problem?

I would suspect an underhood fuse, the steering wheel clock spring, or a wiring problem. It's cheap to triple check all the fuses. The other two will require some troubleshooting to figure out. Since the horn works with the keyless entry, the relay, the horn, and its control wiring seem to be ok.

2003 ford explorer shut-off while driving and it won't turn over, no sound when key is turn.

If the headlights work, I would check for voltage at the key switch and the major fuses.
If nothing works, I would start at the battery and work toward the fuse boxes. Could be a bad ground connection too.

sounds like the battery is dead. Try recharging the battery or try jump starting from another vehicle using jumper cables.

2006 ford explorer, auto 4.6 v6, seems to be sluggish shifting, and going from D > N > R there is a slight pause a thud then its in Reverse. Will not do the reverse thing everytime.

IT SOUNDS LIKE THE COMMON PROBLEM OF THE REAR AXEL CHUNK GOING BAD AND HAS ALOT OF SLACK DUE TO EXCESSIVE BEARING WEAR & THE DRAG OF THE BAD BEARINGS WILL MAKE IT SLUGGISH
