If the coolest was low it is going somewhere. If you filled the radiator and immediately heard tapping it could be coolent hitting fan or even a blown headmaster. It is possible the coolent and tapping aren't related at all and your oil is low.

Jeep grand cherokee cooling fan wont shut off

It is possible that there is a bad temperature sensor. Have it put on a diagnostic machine and possibly reset all codes.

Electric fan on my 1999 jeep cherokee classic wont shut off after you turn ignition off what could be the issue?

the relay is maybe sticking.
or there is a call for cooling when the engine is off.

if the fan turns off after a min or two then its ok.

if the fan stays on and will not trun off ever even after 30 mins then the relay is staying on and needs to be taken out and replaced.

The cooling fan will not shut offon my 2001 Jeep Cherkee 6 cylinder

The fan thermostat or relay is probably shot.Trace the wiring from the rad to the engine block to a longish brass nut (the thermostat can be returned as its non-electrical if that's not the problem) The relay i cant help you with.

2001 Jeep Grand cherokee cooling fan runs on

Likely your fan relay internal contacts have burned closed. Relay should be either in the power distribution center or in front of the battery.
