Check charging system light for 2006 ford taurus

You would need to check the connections on the back of the alternator with a meter.
You should have battery voltage on the large wire and on the orange yellow wire.
The other two wires involve the engine computer which turns the alternator on after the engine starts.

My battery light is flickering on my 1998 ford Taurus. The alternator is only two years old but the battery is close to six or seven years old. But, it still starts up in negative degree temperatures. The...

Probably the alternator again. If you have a voltmeter or there is one in the car, check battery voltage with car running. It should be at least 14 volts. Not 14 volts or no voltmeter--take alternator off and have tested at parts chain. Let me know if you need instructions or have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Battery light comes on and it also says check charging system

Hi. If this light comes on when your alternator is not making electricity and the car is running off of battery power alone. you'll either need to replace your alternator belt or the alternator, but before you do this, go ahead and check your battery connections. Sometimes cleaning the connections will fix a charging problem.

98 ford taurus lights, radio, and acessories come on but car won't start. Must bost battery every time in order to start. What could be causing this?

You have a bad battery. It has plenty of Volts but no amperage. Most likely it has a dead cell. Replace the battery to solve the problem.

When im driving my 1998 ford taurus the car dies everytime i use the lights. and battery goes dead.

you should check the alternator to see if it is putting out the voltage it should. (13 to14 volts) If not the car is draining the battery until it quits running. putting the lights on would just speed up the process

Whenever lightening strikes , my battery light comes on and also my power steering goes hard on 98 ford taurus SW

Hi:
I don't know about the lightning striking, but I am guessing that you have either a bad alternator, or bad belt tensioner on your engine. I would start with examining the belt and tensioner, then remove the alternator and have it tested for free at a local parts store.

94 Ford Taurus Battery light pops on intermittenly usually when turning corners

You have an Alternator or alternator connector issue, have Auto Zone or Kragen test the charging system, it is free, most likely the alt will need to be replaced.
