Dont worry, many deisel engines have these troubles after aging. Check the heaters, whether they have any trouble.

Replaced motor, starting hard. runs fine . how do I check fuel pressure

Doubtful you have a fuel pressure problem if the car runs well, poor starting can be a few things , poor air circulation air filter needs cleaning or replacing, poor injector flow warn injectors or just dirty fuel additive sometimes clears this , poor spark plugs not firing under pressure ok when started . for diesel cars you don't say what car it is , poor glow plugs . bad fuel filter , air leaks in fuel pump , poor injectors . and especially with diesel poor compression due to worn rings or head gasket failure . You may even have just have disturbed the engine earth strap when you replaced your starter motor .

Can anyone please tell me where the cam sensor and crankshaft sensor are located on a 2002 RAV4 2.0 D4D...116BHP Problem is wont start when engine is hot.

this a diesel. (our is 2.4Lgas(petrol)
cold starts fine, runs perfect cold RIGHT?
common rail system.

the PCM will tell you when those are bad, cranking for 5sec or running.
does your run,. ? if yes for get them. and scan engine PCM.
some sensor takes major work to reach.

get the FSM on that car. y
so get the FSM for your car, your engine and your country
The DI chapter covers this. read that yet? diagnosis?
did you use the scan tool an see what up's up or not ?

your engine really is.
1CD-FTV I4 (diesel)
that is the correct name, so study only that)

no start hot.
its too much fuel or tool little?
to little?
did you try test fuel to see if loss of fuel is the problem?
on diesel it's poor compression
or lost fuel , hot starts.
easy huh , no spark to check , there is no spark
some diesels have 1 sensor for injector timing.
if flooding , you get black smoke out the tail pipe, so id suspect
you'd have noticed that and did not see it.
test fuel, tests.
if this fails, a full hot compression test. its not the cam belt slippped
if runs ok cold,

i bet the injectors are shut down
the PCM tell you why, so let it.
SCAN it. after 5 seconds cranked.
almost all PCM report 1 bad pulse of 10 in all speed sensors.
(CKP or CMP )

Grey smoke from my ford mondeo lx 2lt tdci 2001 when i first start it .

hi from uk if you have to turn engine a little longer than normally? on initial start fro cold? and then starts/runs ok for rest of day ? then more than likely your engines glow plugs are in early stage of failing/burning out? these engines rely on pre heat of cylinders when starting especially from cold so they have glow plugs for this purpose indication of burning out is the grey smoke you report on cold starts this is fuel that is not being combusted due to poor cylinder compression/s being heated on first start but when engine heats up no problems so i suggest you renew all 4 glow plugs they are easy diy job and you can purchase from good motor stores not necessarily dealers they are just like spark plugs usually 10 mm socket/spanner to change em after disconnecting the elec supply cable from each hope this helps and inspires you? if milage is high then they are in need of renewal
