Car starts up first time but tick over drops and then increases any ideas how to resolve this
Sounds like either ur iac /or ur tps more then likly ur tps, throtle positioning sensor it controls ur feul intake more feul harder the engine runns, but iac idle air control it tells car more air higher idle less air tells tps less gas lower idle there all linked together have it put on a scanner that will narrow ur possiblities right down to the problem

Ok man, i don't if that helps you, but when i tried it in my 1989 peugeot 205.
Try this: put on the hazzard lights and that will test some of the brake light circuit.

You can spray solvent into the lock...Do it several times and use the nozzle extension to really get in there. If that does not work, you will need to remove rear seat and use long extensions to unbolt lock from lid.
SOURCE: engine ticking
Yeah its a hydrolic lifter or the big end bearing (hopefully the hydrolic lifter as its much cheaper to fix) does the ticking go away after 5,000 rpm?

Sounds like a common error to me, when doing the clutch it is easy to knock the crank sensor when putting it all back together. It may be damaged or dislodged.
It is the Black plastic part at the top front side of where the gearbox meets the engine, 3 wires going to it.
They are very common so also very cheap.
