you need a camshaft position sensor.
it can also mean that the misfire monitor is disabled as it uses cam and crank signals to evaluate misfire based on engine speed fluctuations.

I believe that P1309 code is a Misfire Monitor AICE Chip Fault

Look at the coil pack, these are known to develop cracks, usually on the underside in the resin, you have to remove it to tell. It is much easier to reomve with the wiper cowl removed.
