Car "bucking" I have a 1994 Olds Cutlass Supreme 3.4, car is a 3 speed with overdrive. While driving in overdrive the car starts "bucking", if you step into the gas the "bucking" stops, if you let off the gas the "bucking" stops, if there is no load on the car the "bucking" stops. If you drop the car into 3rd there is no "bucking" at all, replaced all spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, and added injector cleaner, all this was done and nothing has changed. When the car is running at 65mph the tack runs at 2,000, at 70mph the tack runs at 2,500, and when idle the tack is at 400. Can anyone tell me what the heck is going on with my car???

    I do not haul anything with this car, when I say "there is no load on the car" I mean the car is driving on a straight away and there is no stress on the engine or transmission. Sorry for the confusion.

Are you pulling a trailer or have a heavy load - you should not drive in overdrive in those conditions. You will eventually ruin your transmission.

Did you try checking or replacing the coolant sensor? I think you should replace it along with the thermostat. Are there any problems like sputtering or any unusual noises or symptoms? Smoke, anything?

I'm not too familiar with those motors or their ignition system but i would suggest looking into the ignition system as the culprit in this situation. Check for corrosion under the cap(if applicable), coil, and at the spark plug wire ends.

First thing,

lets start with a transmission flush and filter change. then have you checked any of your vacume lines. A bad vacume line is the number one thing that causes any form of transmission mis shifting. When it gets warmed up the lines alow cracks to open up and mess up the function of the vacume line. Also you need to have the torque converter checked. You also need to have a computer scan on the vehicle. a bad sensor or coputer could cause any of these problems.

Trying to start a 1994 Olds Cutlass Supreme and wont turn over.
Does it crank at all or is there nothing when you turn the key? If the resistor chips in the key(s) are bad, they shut down the fuel system for 3 minutes and it won't crank. I've had this happen and the problem was solved when I got new keys.

First thing to check is the fuel pressure. The port to do this is on the top of the engine, it looks like a tire valve stem, but metal, you may be able to borrow a tester from Kragen or another parts store like it, they loan tools, no charge, pressure at idle should be around 40 PSI
