Hi there. i'd like to remove the rear door panel on a vw golf mk5. i know its not a big problem but i dont want to break anything. please can you tell me how to do it!? thank you
You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle,
arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the
panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want
to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal
(can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to
access everything inside the door

Hi. banging and activating the remote and pulling the handle over and over again and again helps. we open most doors this way. sometimes take 10 to 15 minutes of trying.
This worked for me on 2008 Mk5 Golf, after the rear passenger door would not open fro outside or inside.
Hold the inside door latch open and keep it extended, then with the key fob open and close the door locks (still holding the inside latch open). Keep locking and unlocking the door, then it made a kluck and it released.
You very likely are going to replace the fuel pump, well i recomend you check the vw recalls on failing fuel pumps or related fuel lines and fasteners. I own a 2004 vw golf and began to leak fuel at the fuel delibery nipples right out of the fuel pump. the problem is that either there tension on the nipple and cause to crak thus leak, or the fuel line is short and pulling toward the rear right tire causing it to crak and leak. the Volkswagen Golf Recall 05V154000 is the solution this recall is for a vw golf 1999-2000 but all the fuel pumps around vw 's 1999 up to 2006 have the same problem but you need to put acomplain with the NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE
AT 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), OR GO TO
HTTP://WWW.SAFERCAR.GOV.if your car is not under these recall. Fuse # 28 will stop the fuel pump so you can remove it
the door lock mechanism inside the door is stiff and if you remove the door panel and give it a good squirt with engine oil from a oil, can it may ease it off and it will start working
On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle,
arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the
panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want
to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to
get it off the window ledge. Then you can remove the bolts securing the mirror to the door.
