It is normally up by the thermostat and try www.autozone.com to see if they have your car listed for diagrams pictures and step by step instructions if your car is not listed then try your local library they have all the car manuals and even copy them for you

1999 mercury villager, where is the cam sensor located and how do i change it?

cam sensor is in distributor, not serviceable. 1999 is noted for failing cam sensors. Usually runs good cold, then gets worse after warm till it fails all together.
Buy Rich Porter reman on ebay for $200 to get a good one.

Where is a knock sensor for 2000 mercury villager located?

It is under the lower intake manifold in the valley of the engine. You must remove the cross over coolant tube to gain access to the knock sensor. It bolts into the cylinder head. Good luck

1999 Villager: my 1999 mercury villager wont start,it turns over ...

Probably a bad distributor. The cam sensor and optical sensor are under the slotted wheel and when the bearing goes, it gets brown dust on the optical sensor. Temp fix is to clean the optical sensor, but you will need a reman distributor, $200 on ebay. 1999 was famous for this issue.
