Code 16 is for a problem with the correlation between the cam sensor and the crank sensor. The two sensors are telling the computer different things.
The camshaft could be out of time, or it could be something with either sensor.

SOURCE: No spark, 1988 Toyota Camry 3SFE 4cyl, 5 speed.

there is no crank sensor on this vehicles 2.0L. If you have power to the coil, new coil, cap and rotor try this if not done yet>>>Unplug coil power first....Try pulling off the distributor cap, and make sure the rotor is spinning with the cam...If this fails to spin, inspect the entire distributor assembly. If it passes, Inspect all the power circuit and wiring to the dist assembly, if ok possible ecu. i recommend having a mechanic check it out!! Hopefully this helps...please rate...thanks

SOURCE: 1999 chrysler 300m wont crank, code P0340

Sounds like the timing belt broke. Unfortunately this vehicle was not equiped with no contact valves so if that is the case you will need to have the engine and Head rebuilt. If the crank position sensor can't sense the position of the crank it should shutdown the electrical to keep you from damaging your engine.

Car jerks when accelerating.

Did you clean the Throttle Body when you replaced the MAF?

A clogged Catalytic Converter will always throw a P0420 code.

The new Crank Position Sensor may be faulty. They come in grades and varying prices. Always buy the one that the maker specifies, OEM spec.

2007 Saturn Aura XR 3.6 code p00116. new timing chains and all parts...128,000 miles any ideas besides the crankshaft reluctor.. Car runs great idols smooth

you got a bit carried away with the code
code p 0016 refers to crank shaft position/cam shaft position sensor, bank 1 sensor A---correlation === causes --wiring---CKP sensor --CMP sensor ---mechanical fault
code p 0011 refers to cam shaft (CMP) intake /left /front bank 1 --timing over advanced / system performance==== causes ---valve timing---engine mechanical fault --- CMP actuator ---wiring
you didn't mention the fault so consider this
if the timing is out on the intake cam shaft , it will idle good but play up as the timing actuator moves it further advanced with rpm
if the actuator is not wire properly or the solenoid is faulty , then the inlet will lag with increased rpm and again cause you problems
It is doubtful if the position sensors for either the crank or cam shafts are a problem because it starts and idles good

Code P0016 on toyota sienna 2006

code p 0016 refers to crankshaft (CKP) position/cam shaft (CMP)position --bank 1 sensor A---correlation===causes --wiring--CKP sensor ---CMP sensor --mechanical fault
what that means that when the piston is in a certain and reports to the ECM then the camshaft sensor has to report the position of the cam shaft so that the two are in the correct position in relation to each other ( camshfat timing)
could be problem wires , dirty connections or failing sensors
The mechanical fault could be that the camshaft advance /retard operation has failed and throwing the correlation out

Sometimes my 03 eclipse will crank but not start,,,let it sit 10min and it starts like a champ...always runs sooth and doesn't die once started....

If pumping the accelerator seems to work ( it actually does nothing) then there is an indication of a sensor failure either in the accelerator position sensor or accelerator motor. run the fault codes and replace any faulty sensors.

How will the car perform if the crankshaft sensor is bad?

it will not crank usually with a bad crank sensor usually this is a misunderstood code for the crank position sensor being out though as the code for that is the same as the code for the cam position sensor, more times than not the cam position sensor is the issue nt the crank. i have recently been throught his one myself and spent $40.00 i didn't have to by not knowing this and just replacing the cam position sensor and calling it a day.
IF the cam position sensor is gone out the car will still start but it will only catch and turn over if the starter is able to crank it at above 1100 RPM and when it does start it will be rough idle and the car will die as soon as you take your foot off of the gas pedal.

P 0016 code

Code 16 is for a problem where the correlation between the crank sensor and the cam sensor for bank one is off. So yes it could be the cam sensor or the timing belt. If compression is normal on all 6 cylinders I would expect to find a bad sensor.

P0016 Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation
Replace the Crankshaft position sensor, it's located on the passenger side by the harmonic balance in the front of the engine. Inspect the wire harness and make sure you also buy a can of brake cleaner to clean all the dirt from that area since the sensor is magnetic and will pick up any metallic dirt and will cause faulty reading to your ECM.

P0301 is an indication to a missfire to cylinder #1 which is most likly related to the crankshaft sensor being bad.

Replace the Crank sensor first and it take about 20 min from start to finish. Good luck and keep me posted.
