Leaking fluid hydraulic clutch

I've been having to refill the clutch fluid reservoir in my 2002 Ford F150 every day. The clutch pedal gets soft when I run low on the fluid and I am unable to put it in gear. I am providing a link to a picture of the source of the link here: http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p788/Bryan_Lalik/ClutchFluidLeak_zpse01c3b50.jpg , Can you help me find the source of this leak?

I would check for fluid at the bottom of the bell housing. The slave cylinder is inside the housing and known for leakage problems. The transmission would have to be removed to replace it.

Clutch on 1994 Ford laser not working. Car has been sitting in garage for 12 months. What do I need to look for?

Does the car have a cable clutch or hydraulic? If cable, there will be a rather hefty cable leading from the firewall (engine side) to the bell housing. If hydraulic, there will be a second fluid reservoir next to the brake fluid reservoir, engine compartment.
Hydraulic clutch: check for fluid level. If low, check for fluid leaks at the servo cylinder, that is the cylinder that operates the release fork on the bell housing, check for fluid leaks from the main cylinder. If it leaks, it will leak inside the car where the clutch pedal rod connects to the main cylinder. Any leaks you find on the main or servo can be repaired with a kit from your spares dealer.
If cable clutch - Check your pedal. If it is low, the cable can be adjusted to take up the slack. On older vehicles, I have found that the firewall itself sometimes corrodes if the cable is anywhere near the battery, and then adjustment does not help. The firewall has to be reinforced first.
If the clutch pedal feels good, have someone work the pedal while you have a look underneath at the release lever (or in the engine compartment if front wheel drive). See if it works well.
As a last resort, the friction plate or pressure plate could be worn, and this will mean removing the gearbox if your car is rear wheel drive. On most front wheel drive cars the clutch / pressure plate can be replaced while the gearbox is in place, a 45 minute job.

There is an oily substance running down the mat and carpet behind the clutch pedal on my for d focus

Depending on what you focus has there will be two reservoirs under the bonnet if the clutch is hydraulic there will be one for the clutch but there is a seperate one for the brakes check these reservoirs to see how full they are if either of these leak from the pistons inside the fluid will run past the seals and eventually in to the vehicle if your clutch is hydraulic the telltale sign will be if you look up behind the dash board where the pedals are one of the areas where the pedals are or even the top of the pedal itself will be wet with the fluid leaking back in best to change the master cylinder as there cheap enough then when new one is fitted bleed clutch this can be achieved by filling the reservoir then follow the pipe from that reservoir down to the gearbox there will be another cylinder on the gearbox where this pipe is joined look for a bleed screw on that cylinder

On 99 ford zx2 why is my clutch sticking to floor when i shift gears?usually only when im backing out of a parking space and have to shift gears quickly, then i stall out.once im going its fine.i just had...

Hi, you probably have air in the hydraulic line. Check the clutch hydraulic reservoir (next to the brake reservoir)--is it empty? If yes, refill and look for a leak. Repair the leak and bleed the system to restore pedal pressure. If you need instruction for replacing components or bleeding, please let me know.

My clutch pedal has fallen a few inches from the floor it does not shift

You have a hydraulic clutch on your truck, check the reservoir for fluid, check the clutch master cylinder and lines for a leak, possibly line broke or need new master cylinder.

My clutch pedal one day got all loose and wouldnt get tight then i pumped it 4 five min and then it would get tight it goes back and forth between tight and loose and when loose wont go in gear and when...

Sounds like the master or slave cylinder is not right. If it gets tight when pumping it up, that's a hydraulic issue with the rubber parts not sealing, or air in the system.

Good luck on this repair.

I was driving today and had no problems out of the clutch in my 1988 f150 with 4.9 then all the suddon i push it in and the pedal goes 2 the floor and i have no clutch. what do i need to do?

You have a hydraulic clutch. It may be that the slave cylinder has been leaking and has run the reservoir dry thus allowing air into the system. Check the fluid level in the reservoir. If empty, look for leak at slave cylinder or elsewhere along the line from the master to the slave. Replace the slave cylinder or otherwise repair the leak, refill the reservoir and bleed the system. Any questions, please reply. I will paste diagram below.

Clutch goes all the way to the floor without resitance on my daughters 2004 sunfire. there is fluid on the ground and when I checked fluid level it appeared to be empty

Examine carefully to locate exact point of leak. Could be the hydraulic line, a connection between line & slave cylinder or master cylinder, or a bad slave cylinder. Once you identify the point of leak, I can help you with repair info if needed.

Clutch pedal fails to return fully after depressing.

If your truck has a hydraulic clutch it will have an extra reservoir, near the brake fluid reservoir, and the clutch side uses brake fluid also. Your problem I think, is that you are low on fluid. That can cause the problem you describe. Look for this extra reservoir and check it for low fluid, it may be dirty but should have full / low mark on the side.

Clutch pedal has no pressure

check the fluid level in the clutch reservoir, make sure its full, the hydraulic slave cylinder is located inside the bell housing you can check that by looking around bottom of transmission for fluid leak, these systems are hard to bleed air from ,

When clutch pedal depressed clutch does not move away from fly wheel started 2 1/2 days ago. is cluth hydraulic or cable? thanks ray

in a car this 'new' prob. hydraulic. check clutch fluid reservoir- should be near brake fluid res.- will be smaller- if fluid is low, or empty- may be clutch master cylinder, or clutch 'slave' cylinder is leaking. check for leak under car, should smell like 'brake' fluid. if your brake master- both reservoirs are to the full line, and there's fluid under car, close to where clutch master is located, or near front of , or side, of tranny- then it's a clutch problem of some kind (as if you didn't already know this!!) relatively new vehicle (by my standards!), should have hydraulic clutch.
do you mean- when you depress the clutch pedal, it goes to the floor, and you can't shift into any gear??
should have asked this first! front wheel drive or rear? i'll guess front wheel drive. may have hyd. fluid leak in master or slave. (apologize for 'terms', but as 'male & female connectors', it's traditional, non-racist and non-sexist nomenclature!!) gotta' be careful, in the 21st century!! if there are, as i stated previously, 2 similar reservoirs, close to each other, then you prob. have hydraulic clutch. may need 'master' rebuilt, or replaced, or 'slave' replaced-it can be rebuilt, but prob not cost effective!
sorry to be 'long-winded/ texted', good luck!
