The most common causes for "idle hunt" is a dirty throttle body or faulty idle air control valve. The computer uses the control valve to regulate idle speed.
There could also be a vac leak somewhere.

SOURCE: my 92 accord idles up and down from 1000rpm to

I believe there are two fast idle cam valves in this vehicle.Only been several years since I've repaired one. One for the winter and the other for the summer. Your gonna need the shop manual to determine which one is which and where they are located. Now you said its fine "cold" so its the summer one. Short a shop manual what I would do is they are probably on the fire wall as close to the throttle body as possible. There should be two small philips on top of each one holding down a small plate. One at a time remove the screws and plate clean them out with a rag dipped in carb cleaner then squirt a drop of oil in one of them and close it up. Start the vehicle let it run and see what happens. If the symptom goes away you found your culprit now replace it. If it didn't work do the same on the remaning valve and see what happens. Again if the symptom relinquishes its the one you have to replace. The fix for these valves is replacement the squirting of the oil trick doesn't last that long. Good luck

Toyota corolla hatch 2002 idle at 2000 rpm when

All the above is normal , except 2000rpm is a little high at idle . can be adjusted down to 1500rpm. the computer adjusts the engine speed . in drive the transmission loads up the engine idle drops to 1000rpm . in park engine unloaded rpm increase all normal.

Rough idle random cylinder misfire

misfires are more from problem injectors, low fuel pressure or injector wiring than from plugs
have a fuel pressure test done to check for problem pressure regulator , problem fuel pump , blocked m/dirty filter
one other area of concern is the EVAP system where the purge valve doesn't vent the tank properly and causes low fuel flow rates

I just brought a 91! Accord ex. It needs alot of work I am having a problem with the idle its about 2000rpm adjusted but can't get it down please help

usually a high idle condition is caused by a large vacuum leak.start engine open hood an put ur ear in the engine compartment, listen for any loud sucking sounds ,wiggle vacuum hoses an listen for a change in the sucking noise, usually a telltale sign that youve found it wen the noise changes.also u could have a bad idle air control motor which adjusts an keeps idle around a 1000rpm at idle.i highly recommend gettn ur engines computer scanned for any related codes. a good basis to start ur correct path to diagnosing ur idle issues. good luck hope this helps

My 92 accord idles up and down from 1000rpm to 15oorpm. It's fine when cold, but once it's warm it bounces between the two rpm's.
