SOURCE: Power Steering Fluid???

The power steering pump is located under the alternator near the firewall. It is hard to get to so you most likely need a funnel with a flex pipe to reach it without making a huge mess. I hope this is helpful.

SOURCE: power steering reservoir for 2008 Nissan Sentra 2.0 S

I had this question initially. However, the Nissan Sentra (starting in 2007) has an electric Power Steering. It DOES NOT need any power steering fluid. The electric power steering is suppose to give you better fuel efficiency and lower maintenance cost.

SOURCE: Power steering leak --a lot

Three areas of concern. A leaking steering rack: By looking under the car, look for the rods which tie the left and right wheels together in the center. By turning the steering wheel fully to the left or right, you can look behind the front wheels 1/2 way down and you will see the rod I am referring to. Following the rod to it source of attachment, it will have a rubber bellows type cover surrounding is as it gets near the center of the car. If the rubber is torn and has oily residue, that is where you are loosing your power steering fluid. It is a leaking power steering rack. A fairly expensive repair, best left to a professional. Buying a used one is a real crapshoot because they are very prone to failure as they get older.
2. The high pressure hoses will leak on these cars. It is difficult to see these without putting the car on a lift because the pump is on the firewall side of the engine. If you notice the fluid dripping near the pump, it is a higher probability than not that it is the high pressure hose than the pump. Also look at the return hose coming from the reservoir, Sometimes the clamps aren't that tight and it will cause a leak, but your description sounds like a leak under pressure.

Your vehicle has an electric power steering system. More than likely you have a weak battery or faulty electric motor.

Most all of your power steering fluids are basically all the same. But you should also look in your owners manual for recommended fluids and lubrication's for your specific vehicle.

I cant find the power steering refill location....where the hell is the power steering thing. Can it be any more difficult to find..?

According to my service manuals the 08 Sentra has EPS or Electronic Power Steering and does not use any fluid or have a pump because it is an all electric system.

Hi. i have a nissan pintara 1990 automatic. i have put it up for sale and was asked a question if it had power steering. i am not sure as i never drove it. when i look at the engine there could be a thing...

I would almost bet that is does have P/S. To find out, start the engine and while sitting still if you can easily turn the steering wheel from side to side it has power steering. Also you could raise the hood and look and see if you see a power steering pump.

Power steering pump vibrates

I have a similar problem. The power steering felt jerky just the moment you start and drive off. My mechanic flushed out the old fluid with a power steering flush fluid and replenish with new fluid and that did the trick. The old fluid looked clean in the resovior but down in the steering rack, its a different story. The fluid is dark and contained some sludge. No wonder the steering assist was jerky.
