Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

2005 Durango 4.7 hissing/sucking noise from rear of motor. Rough idle and no power. Noise seems to be in sync with the miss. Exhaust also is hard flow, sounds like a dragster.

When driving my Audi for more than 30 minutes it will start to miss and finally stop it will then leak fuel underneath ibetween the right front and rear door

I would say you have a small hole in the fuel line and it is sucking air which will make it miss and then completely stop hope this helps

My 2007 Chevy Silverado loses power when I come to a complete stop no engine lights appear but if I turn off the truck the problem goes away for awhile .

Loss of power, but no mention of rough or inability to idle (including stalling). If those additional symptoms are part of the problem, check for a vacuum leak to the intake. Listen for hissing or sucking noises near air hoses. Look for loose, cracked, or broken air hose connections. Check PCV valve...Cheap to replace, could be sticking, then loosen after truck sitting with engine off. A vacuum leak will not give any light indications, and vehicle will seem to run normal when applying gas, but will want to stall or run rough (or want to stall) when at idle or sometimes when taking foot off gas when slowing down.

Break pedal is extremely hard to push and i can hear a hissing noise, also my truck will not idle well in gear but when you put it in park it seems to revive its self.

Check for vacuum line leak by removing the hose from the booster and plugging off. If the engine settles down and runs ok then there is a problem in the booster controls or diaphragm. Replace the booster if that is the case. Hard brakes is the result of no vacuum assist when you put the brakes on and the noise is air escaping into the manifold through the hole and making the engine run rough.

Kia hissing noise when accelerating

If it seems to have a loss of power you may have a clogged exhaust, (muffler) system, again if you have a loss of power or it runs ruff check for a vacuum leak.

Why does my 2001 Ford Escort run rough and often die at an idle but seems fine oncethe RPMs are up?

There are two likely possibilities. One is a leaking vacuum line. Inspect the vacuum hoses closely. Listen for any tell-tale hissing sound. Oftentimes the culprit is the hose going from the PCV valve to the intake manifold. It is susceptible to cracking. While you're at it, check the condition of the PCV valve.

The other possibility is a faulty Idle Air Control (IDAC) valve. If the IDAC is not opening sufficiently, the engine will idle rough or die at idle. Try removing the IDAC entirely, so the air intake is open. If the engine idles ok with the IDAC removed, replace it with a new IDAC.

If neither one of these possibilities checks out, you will need further trouble-shooting.

On my 2003 cavilier i have a loud roar like a hole in the exhaust but cant find one the car idels rough and vibrats everything in it when i rev the motor i have no loss in power and when i drive it and get...

There does not have to be a visible hole for these symptoms to occur. You probably do need a new muffler. The rough idle sould subside when the new muffler is installed.

Hissing noise coming from the rear of the car. I

probabbly not the brakes, maybe the tires but u need to check that, if u hear that noise with the engine running it might be a burned out gasket on your exhaust line
hope this helps
