Is there a relay for the running lights on a 1979 Toyota pickup 4wd 20r

Yes there is. its under the dash just above the pedals. there are two small round relays that are exactley the same. the one on the driverside is for the running lights/tail lights/instrument panel. the one on the pass. side is for the headlights.

It is either the headlight switch,or the dimmer switch.

1990 toyota 4cly 4x4 pickup need to know where fuel pump relay switch is. I don't have the manual. No power to pump. I ran another set of wires to pump with relay switch for now until I can figure out...


my 1990 toyota 4wd manual tranny wont go into 4wd.
the 4wd light does not come on but the vehicle feels like it is in 4wd, is there a electrical switch that controls this issue ie; the hubs don't lock in.

I have a 1980 20R Toyota pick-up that my blinkers do not flash, but they are on. What can I do to diagnois the problem?


replace gray flasher relays under driver side dash, should say "Flasher" right on them, they may be either round or square.

Need to change engines


If you have a 22r carbed then all 22r carbed engines from 1981-1995 will interchange. You may need to use sensor out of your old engine however. The 20r,22r,22re,22ret all have the same mounts and tranny bolt patterns. how ever there are lot of differences. you can swap from a 22r to a 22re but you must also swap the entire vehical wiring harness to do it right. if you have a 3.0L i would keep the same engine. some people have swap to the tacoma 3.6L but that is a expensive swap not exsactly bolt on so to say. If you have a 22re then stay with the 1986-1987 22re because the newer 22re use different computers, electronics ,sensors and more.. Same story with the 22ret. I hoped this helped.
