SOURCE: My shur-dri model sd-100-01 well pump will run for

It is a heat sink in the motor. Most all electric motors come with it. Once it cools down, they work again. The heat sink keeps them from burning up.

I need help hooking up new headlights, with halos and LEDs, i nned them to turn on right wen the car turns on... Not wen i turn lights on

For that you will need to be able to do some serious wiring. You will need to find a relay in the engine compartment fuse/relay box that turns on when you turn on the key, like the electric fuel pump relay, for example. Next you will need to calculate the amperage draw of all of the lights you are going to hook up. If the fuse for the relay you chose is smaller than the amperage you need to serve both the fuel pump and the lights then you will need to make a fuse connection at a spare in the fuse box to connect to the new relay output and input (see below). The fuel pump relay has control and supply wires on it. The supply wires actually supply the power to the fuel pump. The control wires simply turn on the relay when you turn on the key in the ignition. You need to hook up the control wires of the fuel pump relay to the control wires of the new lights relay. As stated earlier, the supply wires are then hooked to the relay and, in turn to the supply fuse. Make certain that you use some heavier wire for the supply circuits. Thinner wires may be substituted for the control wires. Solder at the fuse box side and use spade connectors at the lights side...good luck!

Fuel pump runs all the time

pull the fuel pump relay and see if it stops. If it does replace the relay with another relay with the same part number in the relay box. If the pump stays off than the relay was bad and needs to be replaced.

if the pump continues to run with out the relay than the power supply to the pump is shorted to power. you will need to dig into the harness to find it.

if the pump stops with the relay out and starts again with the swapped relay let me know and i'll get you some more info

I have a 94 crown Vic I just put a thermostat in it how do u know if it thermostat bad cause it running hot now

If it was running hot before you replaced the thermostat and the new stat didn't help it, most likely you have another problem. First make sure you installed the new thermostat correctly and not upside down and make sure you have purged all the air out of the cooling system. Your radiator could be clogged and restricted, not allowing coolant to circulate. Your fan clutch could be faulty or the radiator fan is not working properly. You could have a bad head or head gasket causing combustion gases to enter the cooling system. The water pump impeller shaft could have broke---These are the most common causes for an overheating problem. Good luck, i hope this helps.

I changed the fuel pump and filter. the pump will turn on and do inital squirt, but no pressure in rod... i talked to fixya expert said the wires may have been backwards so i switched them, and put it back...

when you switch it you may have blown a fues. make shur that your relay is good then if the relay and fues's are good then you may have to replace your pump. if those check out fine and you replace you pump again. some time it helps if you turn your key from off to run a few times then check how much pressure you have. i had one case that it was in the ignition its self.
i hope this help. if you need anymore help let me know

I have a '90 Chevy P/U, ID#2GCEC19K4L1102171. A cable (2 wire Or & Bk) with a small weather booted plug is routed over top of fire wall from battery bus that is between the fuel pump fuse & fuel...

What you need to do is use a test light and while someone is turning the key to start the vehicle check for power to the fuel pump.If there is power there then the fuel pump is probably not putting out enough pressure. You will need to replace it.As far as the plug I am not sure where it plugs into.Does it look like it was ever hooked up before?Do you hear the pump run for 2 seconds when you turn the key to start? You should have power at the terminal E on the fuel pump relay. It goes to the fuel module then the pump if you have a 5.7 motor only.If no power to pump then you need to find the open circuit other wise if you have power then you will need to replace the pump.Hope this helps and let me know if you need any more help.Good luck.

It sounds like your fuel pump or pump relay died. Have a listen below the driver side passenger door in front of the rear wheel while someone turns the key to the "ON" position. You should hear a muffled whirring noise. If not, then the relay or pump has died.

The relay is located in the engine compartment in a black box in front of the power brake booster. The exact location is posted in your owners manual. Autozone or checker sells them for about $7, That should be your first step before dropping $150 on a pump that you might not need. Besides, replacing the pump requires removing the fuel tank to access the pump , and if the shop says the pump is not getting power, then most likely, it is the relay OR the mini fuse for the relay (Not the fuse on the dash panel)

LOCATION OF RELAY AND MINI FUSE

Good luck.

Fuel pump wiring diagram for 1998 chevy express. gas tank when dry, clogged fuel filter. changed fuel filter and van started he let it run out of gas again but now gettin no power to fuel pump. there is...

Well if theres power going to the relay but not out, then you need a new relay. If theres power in and out of the relay, you might need a new fuel pump. The electric fuel pumps inside the tank are actually lubricated by the fuel as it pumps it, and if it runs dry long enough, it can burn out the pump
