Question about Renault Megane
My Megane 2009 plate boot opens on its own. When I start the engine the boot unlocks, when I get out of the car and close the boot it opens itself again. It sometimes makes a continuous clicking noise as though it is continually opening.

your intake manifold should only open when you accelerate on the gas pedal you need to lube it.and the exhaust pipes probably turn red because there is not enough air to cool the engine check your fan relay switch and thermostat to make sure they are working. That may very well be the problem.

Same thing happened on my Focus. I suspected dirt had been preventing the boot from fully locking. A generous application of WD40 on the locking mechanism located on the boot seems to have resolved the problem.

There should be a small switch on the right hand side of the steering column - its 2 position I think - one position should hold them open - the other they shut automatically when you lock the vehicle or manually want to close them. Ian Monmouth Wales
