My 2009 Chevy Malibu just had a new battery put in within the last 60 days. Then I needed a new transmission. Got it fixed. Today my battery light comes on and stays on. What is this?

The light means that your battery is not being charged properly. It could be that when the transmission was replaced, they alternator belt was not put in properly or tight enough. I'd do the following:
1. Check battery connections to make sure they are clean and tight.
2. Check the drive belt to the alternator. It should be tight and not slipping.
3. If neither of the above is the problem, fully charge the battery with a battery charger so you can drive it for a while. Don't drive it without charging or you may get stranded. Don't let the battery run all the way down either or it may ruin it.
3. Check alternator output by driving to a nearby auto store or the place you had it repaired. They usually can check your charging system for free. The alternator could have decided to malfunction, although it's pretty new.
Good luck...

Aircondition does not drain fould molding smell

yes the dealer has a special machine that sanitizes the AC system and kills the mold that causes the smell, the chemical they use is not approved for sale to the public so they must do the job.

On most vehicles the AC comes on when the defrost is on to keep AC compressor/clutch from seizing up from non use during winter months.

Ac repair cost for chevy S-10 4.3 l engine

Unfortunately that would be hard to guess until system is tested, as too many things could come into play here. Best bet is to have system filled & get it working, then go from there. A certified technician in the field will give you a proper diagnosis, before any work is done that you need to approve before they can proceed. It may be as simple as freon recharge only. Good Luck.
